You won't get far in the media world.
I for one welcome Qatar propaganda with open arms.
Fuck current tv.
Yes Europe, America has fucking terrible Television. Do not pity us, most smart people don't really watch that much TV anyways, everybody just watches shows on Netflix or Hulu now.
I hope they don't cancel Vanguard, it's one of the only interesting reality programs on the air since they go into fucking war zones and other places to document.

So? Vanguard man, they're like a more hardcore vice.
They went into North Korea to document the process of them being held as prisoners.

If middle eastern politics is your thing then go right ahead..
Why is everyone jizzing over Al Jazeera here?
Since they're actual news and aren't sensationalized stories that are designed to tug at heart strings and get as much ratings as possible, while leading the audience with bread crumbs towards their belief spectrum.

Their coverage of anything non-middle east is low and most of their decent and interesting documentaries aren't filmed by Al Jazeera so I've found. So as I said, if your thing is middle east politics then its the thing for you I guess.
Why? News organisations receive tips all the time from lots of people and sources.
when lives are in danger its not alright.

But now they will be trying to cater to America, with American news.
when lives are in danger its not alright.
Someone brought up a good point about this. If Al Jazeera receives word about an impending attack on a Taliban or Al Qaeda compound, then should they also give them advance warning?
Huh. Coulda fooled me with the news crew we detained, but hey I guess you got me.
You mean the security contractors?
The security contractors for the American military detained Al Jazeera's employees on Sunday as they filmed across the street from the United States military headquarters here.
The crew, a journalist, a cameraman and a driver, were held for six hours, handed to the Afghan police, and eventually freed without charge, but American soldiers kept their equipment, including the camera, said Samir Allawi, Al Jazeera's Kabul bureau chief.
An American military spokesman, Lt. Mike Cody, said the security forces had evidence that the crew had filmed "security features" of the headquarters, which was forbidden by a sign at the base.
And as for what they were doing there.
But Samir Allawi, Aljazeera's Kabul bureau chief, said the team was merely following up on the Afghan government's plan to remove all illegal cement barriers blocking 48 Kabul roads, causing traffic problems.
Allawi said the Afghan government was removing cement blocks near the US military headquarters.
"This area is purely civilian where there was nothing to indicate that taking pictures was prohibited. The team then began to set their filming equipment when the US embassy guards came, apprehended them and took them to the US military command for questioning," Allawi said.
The three were taken for questioning and were only released after signing an affidavit that they would not violate the law.
"Then we contacted the Afghani Interior Ministry and we were clearly told that what the team had done did not constitute a violation of the law.
"That was also confirmed by the police officer who escorted our colleagues. Nevertheless, the US forces seized the team's mobile phones and cameras and cancelled the press card of our colleague, Wali Allah Shahin," Allawi said
"Middle eastern perspective on America", I can't see this becoming very popular.

If its anything like Al Jazeera English, they won't. It might even just be AJE, they have been trying to get that into America for the last few years.

Do you even read the articles? Like just asking. It fucking clears it up in the op.

I did. Al Jazeera America is pretty self explanatory and the article said nothing about the programme itself. Is speculation not allowed? When someone thinks Al Jazeera they think arab/muslamic/etc.
I don't think it would do well in America.
One reason is the middle eastern prejudice, but an even bigger issue for them is that people already have their loyalty to their respective news outlet. They're trying to enter a market that may not have room for them.
I did. Al Jazeera America is pretty self explanatory and the article said nothing about the programme itself. Is speculation not allowed? When someone thinks Al Jazeera they think arab/muslamic/etc.
About 40% of the programming will be from AJE while about 60% will be produced here in the U.S.
I dig AJ, they are kind of like the middle-eastern flavor of BBC to me. And BBC is probably the best source of news out there too.

You really have no understanding of Al Jazeera, do you?

Hi, just want to interject here.

(Pls no hate, I live under a rock)

It's a news company based in Dubai.
A lot of people see them as anti-American because they're not American-centric. They'll report everything important (wars mostly, they were the only news channel reporting from Kabul during the US lead invasion of Afghanistan) and ignore the bullshit that American news channels love like how Paris Hilton or some other rich fuck got married etc

They're also state funded and owned by Qatar, their local channel is bias towards the Qatar and the international channel is not because their target audience is different. Qatar really wants to extend their global influence, and well funded mass media is certainly the a way to do it.
