But they already carry Al Jazeera English apparently.

Less competition in that case maybe
Or maybe they have wanted to get rid of the channel for a while, and now they just see it as a way to void the contract, letting them step back from it

it's starting to feel more and more like a cold civil war. Neither side wants to let the other side have their way, which in THEORY means they should come to a middle ground in the interest of a majority of people, but as of late it seems politics is 'my way or the highway'
hell even george washington warned of the 'baneful effects' of a partied system and they formed parties right after he left office

smurfy you bum I could mod abuse you for that so hard
at least it was part of an actual post about real things, but it's all kind of mod discretion at that point. some mods ban for any hint, others read into context.

I think we've reached the middle ground; both of the major parties are moving in opposite directions, so we're going nowhere.

With our voting system, a 2 party system was inevitable. You can't stop people with similar views from getting together and organising themselves into parties. But with how voting works in this country, more than 2 parties doesn't work as well since 2 left wing parties holding the combined majority will lose to 1 right wing party, so we just get one of each. Another problem is that it's easy for a party to lose sight of it's original purpose, unfortunately something that seems to have happened to both sides.
