I hope she wins. It's a little outrageous to overreact to being recorded like that.
The way I see it is this, if you feel the need to record us for evidence to make yourself feel safer during your job, then we too should be allowed to record you to make us feel safe from you. Not all cops are assholes, but clearly too many of them are.
Saying "b-but she didn't tell him for 15 whole seconds!" is dumb. So if the cop says "hello" and I say "hello, oh and officer, I'd like to inform you I am recording this conversation", you technically recorded him without permission for those 3 seconds before you told him. If a cop pulls me over, says hello and immediately starts talking, I'm not gonna interrupt him. But when he's done explaining why he's pulled me over, 20 seconds might have already passed. Do I deserve to get arrested because I waited until he finished talking because I didn't want to be rude? What if you keep a dash cam for insurance purposes though? That's constantly rolling.
"Do you know-" "IM RECORDING THIS" "That's 0.61659274729 seconds of secret recording, which is a felony"
So what I said has no merit? You know the exact same as us on this case; what makes you so sure she was trying to "cause" shit? I'd be pissed too if somehow I was in that situation and my wrist got sprained; I don't get how filming police is "causing so many problems" from what you say. Doesn't mean there aren't people who abuse the system; obviously. But those are the people that deserve punishment
you are disregarding the 4 minute argument that happened between the recording and the injury; 4 minutes of resisting an officer and being uncooperative.

However, if whatever you are recording with is hidden from view where the officer cannot see it, it is illegal whether it was a split second before telling him or an hour. According to the law as it is now, if you are secretely recording for 20 seconds before telling him, you do deserve to be arrested. As far as a dash cam, most of the ones i have seen are considered in the open. Meaning, the officer can look in and see it. As long as its not hidden from view, its okay to record the officer Also, i find it funny that ive been getting dumb'd :v: I assume its because people think it should be okay to secretely record an officer. The only thing im against is putting a time limit on laws, because thats pretty dumb
