Not necessarily, I just prefare that they stick to similar actors when portraying roles. I'd be just as annoyed if a traditionally black character suddenly became white, or is a character who was traditionally a woman suddenly became a man.
I mean there was controversy over the fact that Craig was blonde, since James Bond had always had brown hair.

Wow I've seen all the films and never noticed that...
Ah, here's an explanation courtesy of Yahoo! Answers, which raises even more questions, one of them being that you can apparently get expelled from the movie industry.. :v:
[sp] He wasn't replaced by anyone...
Courtesty of imdb.com:
The script was originally written, like the book, to include Draco Malfoy's bully friends, Crabbe and Goyle. As in the book, Crabbe was to be killed in a climactic battle. Jamie Waylett's arrest and conviction on drug charges, however, forced the filmmakers to change this plan. Crabbe was written out of the script, with Goyle being killed in his place.[/sp]
That's made funnier because they replaced a black girl with a white girl in the later movies as well when her character was supposed to start dating Ron.

I'm sorry, but to me Bond has always had to be a smooth talking, white, English Gentleman.
Next they will be trying to sell us an American Bond, or a Female Bondette.
Wasn't that concept used in a different movie in reverse?

that's the most pitiful movie in existence.

Why does he have to be white?
I mean you say that he has to be white but then you fail to follow up with an explanation for why only wanting white people to play a specific role, like, totally isn't racist because....
I could totally go for a black James Bond, would be pretty sweet.
Daniel Craig is still a terrible Bond in my opinion
"Yo, name's Bond, James Bond... Bitch!"
Jokes aside, I can see a huge shitstorm if they made Bond black. I remember how die hard fans went nuts because Craig had blonde hair. As for me, it could work but I always thought only the 007 was the code and James Bond was "real" name/person. I haven't read any of the books so I don't know if Bond's appearance is ever described but if he's supposed to be white than I'd keep him as such.
A black James Bond would solidify the theory that "James Bond" and "007" is just a code name.
They could make a movie with all of them about a conspiracy on how they are getting killed 1 by one, or how they are hunting down important people and blaming it on the current 007 as some kind of revenge.

If they rebooted the films series again and started him off as black it might work, but having him be a white guy then suddenly black it makes no sense.

Other than QoS being utter shit, I think he's pretty good.

You must not be able to read... It clearly says " To Me " . This implies that it's just my opinion. Call me what you will, but I just don't think Bond should be anything other that what we've seen in series.
By that logic, it also solidifies the theory that James Bond is a timelord, or that he changes his face with the use of concentrated leprechaun tears.
There is nothing to suggest that the reason James Bond keeps changing his face is because of plot reasons. Sometimes actors die or move on.
Beyond that, I don't think there is an explanation.
I think it would be funny to cast someone who played a timelord as Bond (John Simm or Christopher Eccleston would be perfect) or a Bond as the Doctor, and give subtle hints that the universes are related without confirming it.
