Notice the time on the Fox icon it's 4:21 [editline]5th July 2011[/editline] This is old as shit the banner says Facebook has 174 million users. The number in January was over 600 million
I saw a thread about Glenn Beck, and it being inside a left wing forum with a large number of Americans I was expecting people to say another thing about a man whom they generally deem as mentally unstable due to his political views which left wing people generally assume are extreme and would not work.
It is not a right or left wing view to claim everyone you disagree with is a communist or a fascist, it's just insane. He would literally draw a few lines on a chalkboard between Obama and Hitler and make them out to the be same person and even if he doesn't believe what he's saying, misinforming people for the sake of money is completely wrong.

This one is from 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl-fAWr-Ogw Yeah this isn't news at all OP

I'm not against weed or anything, I don't smoke it, and I don't have a problem with Glenn Beck saying it should be legalized, but if it does become legalized, and a lot of dumb ass pot heads start fucking shit up, then I'll be pissed.

I do support legalization, although it's a bit hard considering the only pot smoker I know is an abusive prick. Just have to remind myself that there are thousands of people who smoke pot that aren't complete assholes. Anyway, Beck supporting it has actually earned him a bit more respect from me.
All he wants are the pot-lovers on his side.
I've always had more respect for Beck than anyone else on Fox. He's still a buffoon, but he's not as hostile and actually gives people a say in things when he invites them to his show most of the time. Now, he is a very passionate man who I believe does believe in much of what he says, which is the reason Fox has issues with him. He often will promote his libertarian values that sometimes conflict with Fox and general conservative values, such as this. He's still wrong and an idiot who thinks everything is socialism and socialism will kill us all, but he's a respectable idiot. [editline]5th July 2011[/editline] Not really. Hence why they kicked him off the station and ended his show.
Not hostile and gives people a say in things? He invites some people onto his show just to attack them and to promote his own views. Have you ever seen his interview with Sam Webb? The Chairman of the Communist Party of the USA and he says things that are just plain wrong.
I do hope they legalize it. If the US legalize it, other countries are soon to follow. If the legalization goes well, other countries with groups who share the same view will be able to use the US as a large scale example of why it should not be illegal.

If we legalize weed think about all the cool people who would stop smoking it.
I know this was retardedly bumped by a worthless post but there is a huge obstacle to legalization and that is the United Nations. This treaty applies to every member state and basically makes it illegal for any state to legalize weed for recreational purposes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_Convention_on_Narcotic_Drugs
Article 36 requires Parties to criminalize "cultivation, production, manufacture, extraction, preparation, possession, offering, offering for sale, distribution, purchase, sale, delivery on any terms whatsoever, brokerage, dispatch, dispatch in transit, transport, importation and exportation of drugs contrary to the provisions of this Convention," as well as "ntentional participation in, conspiracy to commit and attempts to commit, any of such offences, and preparatory acts and financial operations in connexion with the offences referred to in this article".
Personal use may potentially be "legal," but as long as the treaty is still around it will never be sold legally. The Dutch Coffeeshops are still buying their supply illegally.
do any nations actually abide by UN decisions?
International treaty with 180 member signatories. It's different than decisions.
oh sorry. I'm mentally retarded
oh sorry. I'm mentally retarded
There are some treaties that aren't really followed, but those generally involve forcing nations to comply with human rights standards while this one takes rights away :v:
Glenn Beck isn't a stupid person, his views are just extreme, and he seems to think extreme change is just what it would take to get the country back on his feet. I think he has more of an understanding of politics than most here. As far as legalising marijuana, it's definitely a good move, and there can be a gain for everyone. Potheads can legally smoke, government can tax. Everyone wins. Well, almost everyone.
He labels anyone who doesn't think like him as "facists", "marxists", "communists", or "socialists". He never thinks before he speaks either. One time he opposed net neutrality saying it would restrict our freedoms on the internet, when infact, it keeps the internet the same. That sure sounds very intelligent to me.
at least he didn't use the "high time we legalize.." pun.
I really want to agree with him, but my natural instinct is to think everything he says is complete shit. My mind is melting.
Give people / companies permits to buy and sell, have a little control on it and do the statistics. Even tax it a little if thats needed. Give People / Companies permits to grow plants. Give the consumers a good end product. = Jobs
Never thought I'd see the day. Bravo, Glenn. Fuck, kinda makes me think he's actually a smart guy. Evolution and all that is just his Christian faith overpowering him, Marijuana isn't on the Bible or Christian faith (I think) so for him to take a rational, unbiased view on things (and on Fox News, of all networks) is pretty amazing.
WHAT my grandma loves this guy she has a lot of his books too funny thing is she was a liberal for a while too
This is a good thing to have him on our side, even if he's a bit extreme in other areas.
But the video came out in 09. Does it hold relevance now?
no
GB is more a fiscal conservative, and thus believes in free market, so it's not surprising that he'd support legalization.
He is officially the dumbest person on earth now.
