After the flu stops affecting our race the world will most likely be much like it was before but unfunctional, 500 people to a city if that. Society will eventually recconect through radios and sattelites (still alive). Eventually the humans will collect in one major settlement and rebuild that way, discovery squads will slowly fan out and make the old citys livable for the population again. (However an alterior possibility to this is that they understand the mistakes of the past civilization and stay in small groups to minimize disease spreading.)
