I used to play with those in school when I was a little kid, I'm pretty sure my teacher had some already there.
I got in trouble in third grade for having erasers shaped like army men, not anything serious but still, all the "gun" was was a little black piece of rubber. It wasn't even hard so I couldn't poke anyone with it.

That's such bullshit, when I was in elementary school we all brought in our G.I. Joes and plastic army men and had huge battles at recess. Hell even the teacher joined in.
