Isn't there is an episode of House where they do this to try and save [sp]Wilson's wife[/sp]? I didn't know they showed unrealistic procedures on that show. It cool to see that its becoming a reality now though.
Those volunteers are incredibly brave.

The technique will initially be used on 10 patients whose wounds would otherwise be lethal in an attempt to buy the surgeons some time.
Didn't even read the OP. We need bad reading back.
we don't like to call it suspended animation because it sounds like science fiction. So we call it resuscitation
Shove yourself out of the window, there's no time to explain!
Next thing you know you'll be whoring ratings on SH for being the first virgin to ever get suspended!
So this kind of scares me. You call for an ambulance and suddenly it's the year 2600. But seriously I wouldn't like being the guinea pig for this.
if you could willingly make the choice, I'd fucking love to be frozen and wake up 600 years in the future. It would be amazing. Waking up and everything you've always dreamed of is just there.
please make this a thing. I want to freeze myself for at least a hundred years so I can maybe see space travel and shit like that.

I'm not a rating whore though... or a virgin for that matter...
It's just really interesting that something like this is happening here in Pittsburgh. Nothing news worthy ever really happens here. The last time I saw Pittsburgh mentioned in SH was about the big rubber duck.
The concept itself is really neat. It's not a permanent solution for preserving a body, it's just giving some extra time. I just wonder if the body or brain will deteriorate if left in suspension too long.
