This is no good as a weapon, really. Still waiting for a real lightsabre.
Real one won't happen, not in your lifetime
Still a nasty laser for your average wanker to get a hold off.
yeah, I bought one
Unfortunately for those in the USA, the FDA banned lasers that are greater than 5 mW. So unfortunate because the day I had enough money to get a 200mW laser is the day it became law :(
That is if they catch you buying it. I would assume packages like this do not contain fancy shipping boxes that give off detail of what is inside of it.
Either way, all this news about this laser is pretty bad. Other than the idiots blabbering about "star wars/kill/fire/blind/etc" you have the idiots who make news about this product and spread out more word about this.
Two questions. How do they know this blinds and will give me tumor?
1Watt lasers are not something new. This is just the first portable one sold to the public.
I googled wickedlasers, and found their laser pointers are so expensive!
My post was a refrence to my post in that thread.
And your a little late posting this now
and yet everyone in here is still talking instead of letting this thread die. clearly neither of us are good at preventing stupidity.
If you can see the lasers path then it theres light refracting through the air.
Just being near this laser with bare flesh when it's fired can give you a tumour. No joke massive increase in likely hood.
There is no IR radiation emitting from this laser.
A cellphone is more likely to give you cancer than this laser.
Worrying it's so easily available to kids who no doubt will not have a clue how dangerous this thing is. What's the effective range on these things?
It's a beam of fucking light so 182,000 km.
