Fapping to porn linked to erectile dysfunction, because our brains our shortening erections for we c

So uh. Does fapping to non-'real' porn have the same affect?
I mean, some shit on the net you just cannot see for real. Or would that just make it worse. That sounds like it makes it worse. Oh god.
Fuck this bullshit, I like porn.
I am surprised at myself how little I care about the prospect of having ED.
This thread should be pinned on the front page of FP. I've read through the whole thing, pretty informative!
Eh, if my social/sex/metal life seriously suffers from ED and other such things I'll quit porn (which, according to the video, will work, even if you are older). Until then :v:
Then again I wouldn't consider myself a porn addict. I'll look at porn at the most once a day, but more often than not I'll end up fapping to porn only when I'm bored while also somewhat aroused. AKA once every 2-4 days, and I can easily go without it for weeks (and I have, and currently DO this, when on trips and such with people).
I'm going to cut down on fapping.
Wait let me get this straight
This is just one dude giving a speech, it's not like it's a peer reviewed study or anything
And nobody is questioning this? Fuck me, what happened to "source please"
EDIT:
I finally got around to watching the video. Rate me box.
I don't fap while watching porn, I do it later and use my imagination after fueling up.
Am I impregnating all those men in my imagination?
I watch porn without fapping, to appreciate the art, I am a connoisseur of fine pornography
I was rock hard all the while reading through this thread.
I'm not joking dude. Most people I know jerk off 4-6 times a day as well. I just find that if I don't jerk off, I come home from school way too horny to handle. I end up thinking things about every girl I come across and I just don't like it. Once I jack off, my thoughts are calmer and I can talk to girls without mentally undressing them.
I thought it was just because I'm 19 and my hormones are crazy? I figured they'd die down? But either way, I call bullshit on this.
Pretty sure when I get a girlfriend / wife, I'm gonna be having sex 3-4 times a day. How is that any worse than masturbating?
And masturbating 4-6 times a day isn't an addiction man. I whack off when I wake up then get ready for school, whack off when I get back, then again at night time. 3 times on a busy day, but weekends 4-6 times easy.
Sure a lot of others do the same.
I still can't fully take you seriously, because my God this is just crazy. Again, you are most likely super horny because you jerk off so much. Jerking off makes the body want to jerk off more which makes the body want to jerk off more. You're stroking your own hornyness and creating your very own social problem by jerking off too much.
I'm 20, puberty ends at around age 18-22, your puberty with hormone fluctuations and such is pretty much over, it could very well be over. I've never heard of anyone at all that wanks off 4-6 times, and I've gone to school with people that likes to brag beyond what they can actually achieve just to seem cool and tough. (who hasn't anyways?)
I've heard of lots of people that have tested how many times they could actually fap during one day, but they've never continuously kept fapping that much. Everything from 3-7 times, personally I think I managed 3 or 4 times before I just couldn't fap more that day.
No, you're never in your life going to be having sex 3-4 times a day unless you have a harem or rape her. I don't know what rock you've been living under, but you need to distinguish porn from reality, read up on what it takes to satisfy a woman in bed, look up the average amount of sex people have and look up some sex education as well. You have extremely unrealistic and mind blowingly odd expectations for sex.
4-6 times a day IS CLEARLY an addiction. I really don't see how you can say 4-6 times a day isn't an addiction.
"Everyone else does it so it's okay", yeah best argument ever. No, if you know a lot of others that jerk off 4-6 times a day then they are also addicted. Think about it, this is just like a crackhead saying he's not addicted to drugs because he knows a lot of others that takes drugs 3-5 times a day.
4-6 times a day is only 10-12 minutes a day dgg
God damn it
This makes me sad and angry

Great. Addicted to the act of fapping AND can't even keep going for any amount of time.
The women would be so happy.
Although the comment he made about people fapping to gay porn from this "addiction" makes me think that he might be a homophobe.

Fapping is different than sex, because you're applying stimulation directly to the area that makes you climax the fastest.
I need an intervention.

Yeah, but it's a good time to actually practice going on for a while.
Also he (not microcosm) expects to get laid 4-6 times a day when he gets a girlfriend. He obviously intends to spend pretty much the same amount of time on her as when he faps.
The only part of this I disagree with is the complete disregard for the effects testosterone has on sexual behavior, or rather desire for sex, irrelevant to any addiction to porn or masturbation.
Ask anyone who has injected supraphysiological doses of testosterone, the increase in libido can be daunting and the only release from the constant focus on sex is the act of having sex, or second best, jerking off.
Young guys will jerk off a lot irrelevant of porn and they should. Acute abstinence has been shown to increase testosterone levels, which further increases desire for sexual activity, and this starts detracting from your ability to focus on other activities in your life. This presentation doesn't consider this factor at all, which is strange considering he would've come across this information in at least a handful of the studies he referenced.
Informative.
Well I guess I'll see if I can at least make it through this week without fapping.
I don't know, that sounds a lot like bullshit to me, mainly because it wouldn't make much of a sense to actually lose erection time in order to supposedly have sex with more girls.
Plus I don't think it mentions the influence of testosterone and it sounds like it really over-thinks everything. Psychology has been known to say a lot of bullshit because it went way overboard with logical thinking going to a point where it really didn't make sense, and we've had enough "studies" saying fapping is wrong to start being critical about them (remember how we used to tell fapping was making you deaf and how some "scientists" said porn was making people blind ? yeah).
Now this may be true but I'd rather take it with a lot of caution.
I have been only practicing this for a few days, but I am already noticing definitive changes in my mindset. My main reason for this would certainly be the fact of it making you borderline unable to receive pleasure from everyday existence, forcing you to rely on addictive behaviors in order to keep yourself even remotely interested or busy in something. I would certainly say that it would be the best idea for anyone to simply try it themselves, and determine whether it brings any improvements.

Although if this effect starts becoming too uncontrollable, then it would probably be the best idea to make your sessions further spread apart as opposed to practicing a total lock-down.
So. I think I'm going to go cry now...
...right after I go masturbate to amputee shemale porn.
Does this mean that the 'No Fap' months are going to be renamed 'Erectile Dysfunction Awareness Month'?
Couldn't you just limit it to once a day only to the same porn star until bored then switch? which should solve both problems?
A fap a day keeps the doctor away.
porn made me gay
Porn damaged my fragile little mind. I'm going to go rape someone and murder them afterwards.
I don't care what it does, I'm keeping my porn. You'll have to take it from my cold, dead hands...Well, the left one, anyway.
Honestly I don't care. It's probably not true, I thought ED was just caused by stress and age and was quite random.
