Guys, this isn't the second murder this year, this is the same story...
That guy was pretty badass. Kept doing his job even when they shot him and blew up his clinic.
I couldn't tell if that was an agree or a rebuttel. :S
Let me put it this way:
Had it not been for belief in deities, the following would have never happened:
- Hitler's rise to power (he awoke from a mustard gas attack in WWI proclaiming a God-given mission to save Germany)
- "Possessions" as an excuse to tie dissidents, atheists and heretics to beds and abuse them in order to try to convert them.
- The Crusades
- 9/11
- The many absolute halts in scientific progress throughout history
- The pre and post Roe v. Wade clinic firebombings
- The innumerable human rights violations that have dominated the Middle Eastern political landscape for as long as it has had a name
- Pretty much every historical conflict before 1500.
To lambaste someone for holding disdain for belief in general is fairly ignorant of why that disdain is held in the first place. Nobody is saying to purge the world of the religious, but just because we don't want them dead doesn't mean we have to like and accept them.

eh kills babies and doesn't afraid of anything
Here comes people screaming at me for being catholic and blatantly ignoring the fact that I support abortion.
agreed. if everyone was aborted, there would be no hitler
:godwin:

This is dumb and definitely not a sensible argument I'm gonna rate you dumb
Pretty interesting article I read in Scientific American on why humans believe in things like gods and conspiracy theories. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=skeptic-agenticity
This is dumb and definitely not a sensible argument I'm gonna rate you dumb
Why? Almost all of them are direct effects of religion.
Why? Almost all of them are direct effects of religion.
He was being sarcastic.
He was being sarcastic.
Oh
Worse yet, after years of persuading supporters to work within the law, they say they have already lost credibility among the most ardent abortion opponents who cannot help pointing out that one gunman achieved what all their protests and prayers could not.
What the christ.
Other anti-abortion groups are apparently shunning them for not killing him sooner.
What a lovely, rational bunch.
This is dumb and definitely not a sensible argument I'm gonna rate you dumb
You and the dude who seems to find me so important as to go through every one of my twelve thousand posts and rate each one dumb.
I don't even remember making a hundred of them.
Religion as a whole is just how the human mind deals with reality. We don't like the idea of death. Its hard for most people to understand that things like "Right and Wrong" don't exist., it's part of being human. So we create ways of dealing with things like that. After-Life, higher all powerful beings who will judge us based on "Man made morals". I don't believe in god. I'm not an atheist, I am a realist.

If you are not a theist, you are an atheist.
Don't be a pussy, that's like saying "I'm not white, I'm me."
You can be you all you want but you're not immune to fucking adjectives.
[editline]05:18PM[/editline]
If your skin is white, you are white. If you don't believe in a God, you are an atheist.
[editline]05:19PM[/editline]
That's what the word fucking means, disbelief in theism.
What Anti-Abortionists that kill people fail to realise is...
They've just committed an abortion.
No they haven't. Human life have no value as soon as it's out of the womb.

Sorry. I am an atheist. I just meant that Atheism is just a realistic way of looking at life.

There's also agnosticism, like me. The acknowledgement of both sides, but wondering still how to believe in a higher power.
There's also agnosticism, like me. The acknowledgement of both sides, but wondering still how to believe in a higher power.
Agnosticism is fiction. It's a word that atheists who also happen to be fucking pussies made up because they're too fucking self conscious to admit they're atheists.
Either you do or you do not believe. Atheists can wonder too. If you do believe, you are a theist. If you do not believe, you are an atheist.
There is no "I believe but I don't believe so I sort of believe."
[editline]07:07PM[/editline]
Think of it like hair. Religion is having hair, despite the hair style in question, and atheism is having no hair.
If you have hair, you have fucking hair. If you do not have hair, you are fucking bald. There is no in between, either you have hair or you don't.

For your hair example; it's like deciding whether a shaved cut is a style or not.
For your hair example; it's like deciding whether a shaved cut is a style or not.
It is hair.
This isn't fucking rocket science. You don't have to have gone to barber's school to understand this.

I fully understand, I just see a loop hole in your comparison of the matters.
Agnostics aren't atheists who 'kind of' believe and are 'too afraid to admit it'. They're the people who argue with themselves whether to fully believe in science, fully believe in the powers of God/gods, or whether there is a mix of the two.

Agnostics believe that there will never be any concrete way to determine whether people have hair or not.
It's more than just "iunno guys, maybe there is maybe there isnt"
For the record, I'm an atheist.
This is turning into yet another argument about religion, eh?
This is turning into yet another argument about religion, eh?
They always do.
Quit fucking generalizing religious people, guys.
What intrigues me is that he's ushering at a church and he's also an abortionist.

Stop trying to over-simplify everything.
