They use Minecraft as an example. Why would anyone play the Xbox version on PC.
looked like the PC version of minecraft actually
With a background song riff of "this is a real revolution" they couldn't have possibly made it more pretentious than it already was.
i know, right?
it kinda feels like they're trying to sell us something
why the fuck would you go out your way to play the expensive, crap xbox minecraft instead of the version on the PC?
Dumb and uninformed people will buy it. Mostly kids, and parents.
"Xbone streaming to a computer in your house ANNOUNCED"
I honestly thought this was something much more amazing at first. I thought I'd just be able to play the entire xbox 360 & xbone collection of games on windows 10 directly through the OS; hot damn that would've been amazing if it was true
They use Minecraft as an example. Why would anyone play the Xbox version on PC.
What else can they show? Minecraft is extremely popular among kids and early teens which aims to be their target audience
of course instead of doing what everyone would actually want (putting xbone games on pc or making them playable somehow) they do the exact opposite
i dont even really get the point of this? why would i want to stream xbone to my pc when i already have an xbone to play it on, unless im missing something here because the video is really vague for me
more community/service application for PC too, like GFWL wasnt bad enough already we gotta do a GFWL 2.0
If you don't want to fuck around moving the xbox one to another room to play it I guess, or if the TV is busy. Considering this (looks to be?) a Windows 10 only thing for Xbox One games only I do doubt it would go the way of GFWL.
At least there's a game dvr for any windows (including steam) games, pressing Win+G saves the last 30 seconds of footage of gaming. Idk if they're gonna have a fully built in record option though.
Wait does streaming xbox games to PC mean you can play with kb+m? On mobile so didn't watch video.

You need a controller to do it. Not sure if it's any xinput controller or specifically an Xbox One controller though.
The Xbone uses an x86 CPU and Windows, but I highly doubt Xbone games would run very well on any PC. Console games are heavily optimized for that platform's specific hardware.

The current gen consoles are far more similar to PCs than any consoles before them, though, and IIRC the Xbone even runs on a modified version of Windows 8.
it's the pc version of minecraft they're playing, you guys know that right

So why even bother lol
"You can now use your PC as a monitor for Xbox One"
Gee, thanks Microsoft.
And I have no doubt they'll try to use Windows 10 as a new means for some successor for Games For Windows Live if they do start trying to port anything over. This whole thing is stupid.
Title had me excited for a second. There are a couple Xbox One games I'd love to own but aren't worth paying for a console.
How does merely streaming content use DirectX 12 at all?
Apparently the Game DVR function will also work on Steam games?
I don't know why I expected it to be anything but a streaming service from your xbone. I was wondering however how would it use Win10 DirectX 12? (or is it just a marketing ploy?)
Why would you want to stream your Xbox One to your PC though? What's the point?
Only reason I could see is that someone happens to be using that TV at the time but you still wanted to use the Xbox. Then you could stream it to your PC. Or stream to an HTPC in a different living room.
It has limited use, but its good they are offering it as an option when their competitors are. Its more flexible than the PS4's Vita-Only option anyway.

Except for the original Xbox, which was literally a Pentium III PC with a custom Nvidia GPU and OS.
this looks pointless.

It runs on a Hybrid system
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_One_system_software
Sounds like it has 2 OSs, one for Games and one for System Software.
and for the first time ever, console streaming on your pc.
how revolutionary. its truly a great time to be alive.
This would only be good if I could stream games from my PC to an Xbox. My hardware is far superior, and my library far bigger. Also most of MS games for XBox are "Exclusives" rather than exclusives..
wait i'm extremely confused as to the point of this

someone please explain this to me

For the streaming, If you have an Xbox One in one room but want to play those games in another room or if the TV is occupied or something.
For the app itself, you can manage friends and stuff from it. Also works to record game clips and screenshots of normal PC games. Acts like a hub in the same way Steam does.

They finally listened to us.
This is their way of giving us Xbox games "on" pc
It's about time cross-platform multiplayer became a thing
