Pretty sure Doctor Who has more episodes and series under its belt all together than The Simpsons. Though it hasn't been running continuously so that may complicate things and America may only count in this case.

pff 680 episode.. with what we call a "floating timeline".. watch detective conan 800 episode many spring break, holiday, seasons pass in the manga and anime AND IT IS STILL CONSIDERED TO BE THE FIRST YEAR OF SHINICHI BEING TURNED INTO CONAN. For fuck sake guy, 800 episode (Removes all TV only at best - 331 TV fillers but you still get 3 crime a day number) and japanese don't even complain about it

Just let the show die already. I love the Simpsons and all, but over 600 episodes seems like enough to me. The voice actors can't do it forever. Several have already died over the course of the show.

Here's my prediction for S30E01: Zayne Malik, or maybe a lesser Kardashian will make an appearance. It'll need to be someone who was mostly flavor of the month a couple of years ago. In running with that theme, the episode will be based primarily around Pokemon GO. Marge will dab at one point in the episode Homer will have a subplot where he gets a job as a beer bootlegger again because people liked that episode but instead it'll all be a Breaking Bad reference because all the writers have left is pop culture references. His subplot won't really go anywhere though and he'll end the whole thing without having really learned anything. Bart will get up to some WACKY hijinks with his pokeymen go app, Lisa won't feature in the episode until they need to hamfistedly insert a moral to the story to trick you into thinking the show's still sincere. Maggie won't really do anything, maybe a visual gag.
