If you supported wikileaks before, this should change your mind. This kind of stuff was bound to come up if they had all that other data, and I'm sure they have more of this kind of stuff.
More people watch/read the news than read Wikileaks, far more. By putting this information directly into the public eye they are pretty much asking for trouble.
Well then it's obviously BBC's fault, they should be shut down for treason [editline]5th December 2010[/editline]
This cable was only released late last night according to the page.
Oh yeah, they were releasing them in batches. It still falls under the purview of the existing leak

Do people really think that terrorists / countries that hate the US are so dumb they do not know these places exist? I would be surprised if anyone (Who is deeply interested) has learnt from these leaks so far.
The existence of these places was already public, now they're just compiled in one spot
Either nothing will come of this or a lot of cut cables and angry people. I'm leaning more towards cut cables at the moment as they aren't really guarded. Probably by some anti wikileaks junkies who wanna make something happen to get it taken down.
Completely transparent governments do not work, and this is obviously not something the public needs to know. This is a threat to the safety of the public, not an enlightenment.
The existence of these places was already public, now they're just compiled in one spot
and people are calling it a list titled "PLACES TO DESTROY THAT WILL FUCK OVER AMERICA" sensationalist brewhaha. Don't act surprised as if Wikileaks was supposed to be the champion of the people against evil government secrets. This doesn't surprise me at all.
Sounds like wikileaks is going over it's head.
As much as I support wikileaks, this does seem like it's going a bit too far.
BUT THEY ALREADY KNOW THEY EXIST. :colbert:
Read the bloody article before claiming that Wikileaks does no wrong.
nice one retards
This isn't the best way to make friends
Just when I decided that I liked Wikileaks, they pull this shit.
Wow what the fuck? What the fuck are they thinking? Good job. I used to side with wikileaks, but as far as I care now if Assange died tommorow I'd be happy.
Just when I decided that I liked Wikileaks, they pull this shit.
Should still like them, just because they put all this information in one place and the BBC decided to put an article out about it does not make Wikileaks bad. I am still waiting to see if they have any of the classified UFO documents.
Wow what the fuck? What the fuck are they thinking? Good job.
also almost all of tease are PUBLIC PLACES ANYONE CAN GOTO FIND :/
Yes but never before have all of these places been compiled into a single list on one page. Nor have they been widely known, until some news stations decided it was a good idea to mention the leak and get the attention of even more people.
Really now wishing death is being as bad as Palin.
But they could take down my internet D:
i can imagine wikileaks fucking up the world somehow
Death to Ameri KKK a! This is revenge for Palestine, bitches.
i can imagine wikileaks fucking up the world somehow
Blaming wikilinks is like blaming the gun for murder and not the person who pulled the trigger. Wikilinks just gives us the information, its up to the individual on how they decide to use it.

Probably by some anti wikileaks junkies who wanna make something happen to get it taken down.
Every single underwater cable is clearly marked on many many maps and charts to prevent people accidentally cutting them. This just says where they hit land (which is also clearly marked). Also for what its worth, having just flicked through the many news channels I have access to and this story isn't being mentioned at all, there's no outrage in the US it seems. The BBC are reporting another cable (In which Clinton suggests Saudi Arabia are major terrorist funders). (They are also saying that some American politicians are calling for the law to be changed if Assange cannot be arrested under current law :|, is this even legal) Edit: They are mentioning it now but they didn't even bother talking to their reporter in the US they spoke to about the other stuff so I don't think its being taken that seriously (yet) [editline]6th December 2010[/editline]
Blaming wikilinks is like blaming the gun for murder and not the person who pulled the trigger.
Blaming wikilinks is like blaming the gun for murder and not the person who pulled the trigger. That's like selling a gun to a serial killer and going "oh well i'm not choosing how to use it". There was absolutely no good purpose to be gained from releasing this, and further corrodes Wikileaks' reputation.
#1 is mcdonalds

Yes the information was publicly available about the cables under water and even many of the land ones. All the facilities were also publicly known. However the real issue here is that now it is known these facilities are of vital importance to the USA and much of the world, not just that but Wikileaks has them all listed in one spot.
So how would you feel about the guy who publicly released your daily schedule, and then the doors of your house that don't have locks on them?
Well Id change my locks :smug:
What - you can't resolve Wikileaks of any responsibility. Maybe those of you who were supporting him are seeing what an idiot he is. He's now released documents that affect almost all major nations. If this guy goes missing I don't think I'd be surprised, nor would I care.
Now what good does releasing THIS do?
It shows how ridiculous the war on terror is. This shit is completely unrealistic. The US government is a paranoid gun nut who barricaded himself in his apartment and wears a tinfoil hat.
