is there a story behind this photo or is it just assumed they met at a cross burning and took a photo to celebrate white pride
"hey Ron can we get a picture with you?" "k." [editline]2nd January 2012[/editline]
He seemed like such a nice guy before that picture with the Grand Wizard.
If that's your reason for disliking him you're seriously naive. You should be more concerned about his out-of-whack priorities and the personal liberties he takes when defining "constitutional"
I'm loving this guy more and more every day.
I actually kinda agree with him. And honestly, despite homophobia and racism, which is slowly solving itself anyways... I'm thinking about voting for him. He may not be the best but he seems at least the most reasonably sane right now, without psycho christian agenda's. I'm willing to risk losing some tiny bit of security for freedom. Besides, as nice as Obama is... he just doesn't seem to always stick to his word, and that whole 'hope' and 'change' picture seemed a bit... propaganda in feel. Then again, I feel a bit biased with this post, can anyone explain anything they can to me?
"They can come into our houses, our bedrooms our businesses ... And it was started back then." From the man who opposes abortion. Ron Paul: For individual's rights, so long as those individuals are white men.
That's cause only white men are real people!! All the rest o' them ain't smarts enough! They be like my dog!
Here you go http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/
That site looks badass. Also, I do know the fact that political decisions are insanely complex. Make 10 people happy, piss 10 others off. http://www.politifact.com/personalities/ron-paul/ Ron seems more true than the others... http://www.politifact.com/personalities/michele-bachmann/ :v:
So everyone loved the shit out of this guy, then he was somehow linked to something about racism, now hes a laughing stock all in the span of a few months what
The love for Ron Paul was essentially a meme perpetrated by SomethingAwful and Reddit around 2006-2008. The SA hivemind dropped their support for Ron Paul and libertarianism in general around 2009. As far as I know, Reddit is still the driving force in Ron Paul/libertarianism dicksucking on the internet. The fact that he posed with a grand wizard has very little to do with this, though it certainly doesn't help.
also www.whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com

Created more private sector jobs in 2010 than during entire Bush years
wow
And yet he was in that pic with the KKK Grand Wizard and the Neo Nazi party leader.
'Grand Wizard'? What a fucking joke organization.
'Grand Wizard'? What a fucking joke organization.
You determine that they are a joke because of the title of one their ranks?
You determine that they are a joke because of the title of one their ranks?
Well, yeah. Who the fuck calls the head of their organization "Grand Wizard" (other then, say, magician associations)?
Well, yeah.
I don't necessarily disagree, but I think that's nitpicky. The KKK is a joke because they're racist bigots. The fact that they have silly codenames and wear silly clothes should be the last point of concern.
Well, yeah. Who the fuck calls the head of their organization "Grand Wizard" (other then, say, magician associations)?
They are magicians. They practice white magic.
well at least that's nice
That is actually a very good point a lot of people want to ignore. His stance on race is weird. He has made racist comments in the past, but that whole bit on the war on drugs and death penalty being used to discriminate and the general disproportion that exists between white people and minorities. I really don't know where to go with this guy. He says radical things like saying most black males in DC were either semi-criminally or criminally active in some way, but then he says very progressive things as I stated above, but I don't think he made that statement just to make up for his past remarks. I could be wrong, but I think Ron Paul wants a social change to occur in society to remove racism, not "invasive" legislation. (Though I still don't see how the civil rights act is invasive) And I in some ways agree. I think it is sad that we need laws to keep us from treating each other like shit, but that is just the way it is. :( Edit: And I agree with SOME of his libertarian principles. For instance, in Florida (and many other states) it is illegal to smoke in a restaurant. I believe it should be up to the owner of the establishment if he wants to ban smoking from the premises. Yes, smoking is hazardous to health, but you do not have to eat at the establishment. If the person who cultivated that business is okay with smoking by the diners, then so be it. Yes he will lose some business, but that is his choice and his business. When I tell people this, they just go, "But that isn't fair, second hand smoke is dangerous!" This is a bad excuse. You do not have to eat there, he started the business, he cultivated it. If he says it is okay for his customers to smoke, it should be okay. No one is forcing you to eat there, there are hundreds of other places you can eat.
wow
shit just got real
Well, yeah. Who the fuck calls the head of their organization "Grand Wizard" (other then, say, magician associations)?
I'm assuming you know very little about KKK history. The titles of Grand Wizard, Grand Dragon, etc. originate from the early 20th century reorganization of the KKK. They were modeled after a fraternity, which are usually secretive and exclusive, so they used codenames. Why they used (I'm assuming) Medieval ranks such as Squire, Knight, and Wizard, etc., I'm not sure. I don't know a whole lot about early 20th century fraternities. I realise that the KKK is a joke, but that doesn't excuse your arrogance.
I don't agree with him, but he does have a pretty good and interesting point. We do loose a bit of our freedom when the government tells us we can't be a bigot.
No one's rights are absolute though, and I don't think a rational person can make the argument they should be absolute. Free speech: Can I then say and print anything I want? We have rules against slander and libel for example. I think we can all agree sometimes rights of one must be limited to protect the rights of another. This Paul guy seems to think there should be absolute rights, such as to private property and private choices(whatever that means). But if I own restaurant and make a rule "No Jews" how is that consistent with the fact that the roads to get to my restaurant are paid for by taxpayers(including Jews), and the police protection and fire protection are paid for by taxpayers(including Jews)? We don't live in a world where anyone is an island unto himself, if you are part of the US then you benefit in any number of ways from every other type of race/religion/gender/orientation/etc that lives in the same country with you. Paul and his type always appear to be clueless, deliberately or not, about this.
We also lose a bit of freedom when the government tells us we can't lynch the [del]niggers[/del] [del]blacks[/del] African Americans It's not a pretty good or interesting point, it's the same old racist apologist bullshit
A. blacks would have been the appropriate term, using african american to describe all dark skinned people is stupid B. lynching people infringes on people's right to life. even though i disagree with this bill you're making a really bad case of opposition by comparing the ability to refuse service to a customer based on race to lynching black people [editline]2nd January 2012[/editline]
No one's rights are absolute though, and I don't think a rational person can make the argument they should be absolute. He is assisted by 10 "Genii," and has been described as "autocratic." Grand Magi- He serves as a sort of "vice-president" to the organization and can act as deputy wizard. Grand Scribe-This person serves as secretary of the Klan and takes detailed accounts of the meetings. Grand Dragon of the Realm- He presides over his assigned state or "realm" with eight "Hydras" to assist him. Grand Titan of the Dominion-The Grand Titan governs a Dominion, or several counties in a state, and is assisted by six "Furies." Grand Giant of the Province- He ran each "Province," which was a County, and had 4 "Night Hawks"(messengers) as assistants. Grand Cyclops- The Grand Cyclops ran an individual Den, and was assisted by 2 Night Hawks. Lictors- These were the guards for the Den meetings. Ghouls-This name refers all members[/release] Basically they're idiots
somewhat valid point, but by that logic everyone is entitled to access to everyone's homes considering they are led to by public roads and protected by public officials
Yeah, but in order to even follow said 'logic' you have to be retarded and not know the difference between someones personal home and a public business like a damn restaurant. What you've said there is not valid at all.

ok I'm voting Ron Paul...
huh? both are private, just because a business owner is inclined to open his business to the public does not mean his business is public. they still own the business, the state doesn't. you can own a business and have no obligation to open your doors at all.
I never said the business has to open it's doors at all, if you want to only own your business for a month, keep it closed, that doesn't matter, what does is discriminating certain people for no good reason. What you said also equates business' and homes, as if people should feel as entitled to strangers houses as a random business, which is retarded.

Yeah, just because minorities pay for the road doesn't mean you need to let them in the restaurant. It means they are allowed on the roads.
Yeah, just because minorities pay for the road doesn't mean you need to let them in the restaurant. It means they are allowed on the roads.
pretty much what i'm trying to get across, that cecilbdemodded's logic is flawed in saying that because public roads lead to a private business that gives people the right to enter the business.
We also lose a bit of freedom when the government tells us we can't lynch the [del]niggers[/del] [del]blacks[/del] African Americans It's not a pretty good or interesting point, it's the same old racist apologist bullshit
Wow seriously Contag I thought you knew about how law and rights work Lynching black people has always been illegal because it's a violation of their right to life; your freedoms stop when they infringe on other's rights
