1 person shot themselves. There are no other reported injuries. This wasn't an active shooter situation, and it's over.
Source? I want to show someone this if it's true.

video games killed my dog
We have a certain protocol to follow when an active shooter is reported. It's the same thing as one of those intruder drills you did at school, just with a different wording and on a massive scale.
The hell are intruder drills?
Even for a zombie outbreak?
You would be surprised. I mean just the other day we had a Zulu Oscar call in the back traini- oh shit I said too much.

In case of a suspicious person at the school, there would be a call over the pa system with a codeword, and you would lock the doors and close the drapes. We would practice from time to time.

After a couple of school shootings, kids in the US were taught to have a drill in case of an intruder into the school.
I did it only once in high school and the kids spent the time pointing out all the flaws in the plan. The only real defense it gave us was locking the classroom door.
The rest was something like, everyone go sit on the floor in the back of the room, be quiet and shut the lights off to imply that the room is empty and unused - except every class did this, so obviously an intruder would know there's some rooms full of people.
It was mostly a feel-good measure.

Time to time is more than me. I did it once in my junior year and that was it.
Never done an intruder thing at my schools but we had an emergency PA system test after two gang affiliates got in a shoot out in a campus library in college. There was a SH thread about it actually.
I'm sure you or your parents have at some point practiced a duck-and-cover drill or a fire drill. Don't act like your country is free from harm or violence.
Fire drills sure but intruder or 'duck-and-cover' drills nope.
Show me where I claim the UK is completely harm free - that's your inference based on your assumption that I am making some stupid comment about America (I'm not so no need to get snide)
Fort Lee is a pretty quiet place. What a shame.

Hasn't he had already like 2 alts banned because of being a shit poster in general?
Even for a zombie outbreak?
I know you're joking but the army is known to drill imaginary scenarios like that just as a critical thinking exercise. It helps if they have to face a foe they know nothing about.

we need some good old fasioned jesus morals in this country
You'd think a military base would have the equipment and personell to take care of a crazed gunman

We do. They neutralized the threat in less than an hour, pretty much 30 minutes.
Update to the situation. It turned out to actually be a suicide. More details are in this article:

Its sad that such a thing happened. A lot of people overlooked how stressful military life can be
