The principle of publicity, it can turn from good into bad by the snap of your fingers!
Insight in government documents is always a good thing, even when it's for the worst.
Afternoon folks, let's begin day 2 with a Q&A session from Alan Rusbridger that starts at 4 PM GMT (1 PM EST, 10 AM PST) No new articles other than various reactions from all over the world. Well, here's something to keep you guys busy: The Guardian discusses about the Embassy Cable leaks (Just a reaction video basically) "If we had one of those red siren things that the Drudge Report has, it would be flashing here: stand by for incoming hot news. Seriously." [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] Added new article: Brazil frames suspected terrorists on narcotics charges Also, that Q&A is live, however, it's not a like a chatroom. It's instead taking place in the comments, read further down the page to see it active. [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] Here's that article about 'inappropiate behavior' from a British royal Prince Andrew shocks US ambassador, attacks Britain's corruption investigations. (With accompanying cable document!)
2 new articles (1st one is just a 'round-up' of day one, the second one is semi-new) 10 top revelations from the cable leaks (Day 1 mostly) Diplomat warned Germany against pursuing charges against CIA operatives who kidnapped and tortured a citizen who had a name similar to a suspected terrorist
http://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/9361940522471425
WikiLeaks reveals US Nuclear Weapons in the Netherlands http://cablegate.wikileaks.org/cable/2009/11/09BERLIN1433.html
oh wow
http://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/9361940522471425 oh wow
Cool, my country has nukes. :D
http://cablegate.wikileaks.org/cable/2010/02/10SEOUL272.html badass [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] really, really badass, omg
http://cablegate.wikileaks.org/cable/2010/02/10SEOUL272.html badass [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] really, really badass, omg

Chun XXXXXXXXXXXX said the PRC would be comfortable with a reunified Korea controlled by Seoul and anchored to the United States in a “benign alliance” -- as long as Korea was not hostile towards China.
So basically China has been dealing with US and SK behind the back of NK?
i literally started smiling while reading it
People who don't support wikileaks can't face the facts. The truth is right there in front of you, black and white. It's no longer a conspiracy theory, it is fact. Unfortunately people can't handle the truth, they make up excuses why wikileaks is 'anti-american' and how it severly threatens the United States. Bullshit. People have the RIGHT to know what's going on. The US was FORMED by the PEOPLE questioning the government. If founders like wikileaks were never around, these corrupt officials will continue what they do since no one will stop them
I bet Kim Jong-Il is really bummed right now.
http://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/9361940522471425 oh wow
Said this a couple posts back, but I knew this long before wikileaks "leaked" that, everyone I know knew about the US nukes we hold for them. [editline]29th November 2010[/editline]
Cool, my country has nukes. :D
Not really, we get to hold and throw them for the US, and we get the blame if we drop em.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_diplomatic_cables_leak This is written in a genuinely neutral light, as opposed to wikileaks, which continues to piss me off as they interpret the facts before they present them.
The only notable time WL did any "interpreting" is when they edited the video of the chopper gunner, and even then it was an edit to save time and the full raw video was posted on the same fucking page. Take your head out of your ass, they don't have an agenda and they're not biased.
I guess this explains why South Korea aren't really retaliating to North Korea's attacks. They're just going to wait it out, and annex them when they collapse.
I bet Kim Jong-Il is really bummed right now.
So ronery.
Sorry guys, been in class and haven't had time to update the OP. However, I do have some other big news. See below. Added 4 new articles: China is supposedly ready for a unified Korea. They are 'ready to abandon North Korea' A different article on North Korea from the NY Times US 'obsessive' over North Korea. "Without an embassy in Pyongyang, the Americans hoover up any fragment of intelligence from foreign contacts." Assange's next target: A major US Bank (Full interview transcript)
Tea girl is going to be saved. :3
Said this a couple posts back, but I knew this long before wikileaks "leaked" that, everyone I know knew about the US nukes we hold for them. [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] Not really, we get to hold and throw them for the US, and we get the blame if we drop em.
Come on, our moment of fame :(.
These aren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be, besides the German one most of these aren't really that damning. [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] Still, I'm wondering why Assange is targeting the US specifically, there has to be other informants from other countries that are supplying him with information, a little variety is a good thing.
Diplomats were tasked to find out how the Argentina president handles stress. Seems we're reaching the end of Day 2 folks...
I can't wait till Thursday. I heard some Canadian related stuff is going to drop then.
Most of it pretty much just confirms what everyone has believed anyway. At least, those are my impressions.
Oh. And Rush Limbaugh, ladies and gents. "I hate the word Wiki. I know what it means. Wiki is a website where anybody can add to it, WikiLeaks, Wikipedia, Wiki, it does not sound like a manly word. Wiki. I think of candles. Wiki. Wiki. And then you look at this waif, Julian Assange, WikiLeaks, and it just all kinda goes together, just does."
I can't wait till Thursday. I heard some Canadian related stuff is going to drop then.
Probably something boring like trade agreements or something. [editline]29th November 2010[/editline]
Oh. And Rush Limbaugh, ladies and gents.
Ugh... I just don't know what to say about that. That's just... ugh.
It's Rush Limbaugh, that's all that there is to say about it.
Man, one of us should check in with Kim_Jong_il to make sure he hasn't hurt himself, or something.
so basically china has been dealing with us and sk behind the back of nk?
this bromance is over china.
I was expecting news about electrical cables in a US embassy breaking and leaking sparks :(
