That's enough. Send this fucker to rot in jail. All he did was pointlessly throw a bunch of diplomatic stuff out in the open. Nothing world shaking, just this crap which puts lives and interests in jeopardy.
Why are you so fucking stupid?

There is so much wrong in that post.
Why are you so fucking stupid?
Why can't you see that this information is best not spread around the public?
Think about it. You have a bunch of foreign diplomats trying to squeeze their best interests, your best interests, and the interests of their respective governments and what-not, everyone's trying to keep this shit secret and then this fucker runs ahead and release all kinds of documents that do nothing but destabilize the situation and make everyone look bad all over. One of the articles in the leak was that the Chinese were lying to the North Koreans about their interests being in common. You think the North Koreans aren't going to find out about that one soon enough, with these documents running all over the web? In all likelihood, what this means is that China is now a target for North Korea, and millions of more lives are at risk.

Bradley Manning is a "pimply geek" and Julian Assange is an anarchist. But you are forbidden from posting libelous comments below!
Personally I find it disturbing that the country I live in is being run by high school cheerleaders. "O-M-G Ahmadinejad is totally like, Hitler or something!!1Eleventyones!"
Hold on a second, I just realized.
What is the point in Wikileaks releasing this? Yeah, you can argue that the public should know about war crimes, but why does anyone need to know about private diplomatic cables? Why is this the right thing to do? Would you want your private IM sessions and Facepunch posts spilled across the internet? The diplomats never wanted anyone to hear what they had to say. It's like recording a private telephone call and showing it to the rest of the world.
What does the public have to gain from this? All it can cause is damage to international relations across the globe, and not just between the U.S. and other nations, but between all nations.
So true. What's the point?
PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THIS INFORMATION MANNNNNNNNNNNNN!
Oh shut the fuck up no they don't.

The government has no right to withhold information, thats why. These aint things diplomates just said about other people/countries, these are files ON RECORD.
Just saw in my morning paper that officials are branding the wikileaks owner as a terrorist.
:rolleye:
oh i so dumb i
The government has no right to withhold information, thats why. These aint things diplomates just said about other people/countries, these are files ON RECORD.
The government tends to release information once it wouldn't harm current policy/relations.
Hang this cunt.
Hillary Clinton questions Cristina Kirchner's mental health
Hahahahahaah that's awesome :v:
But we all know around here she's batshit insane and uncapable of running a country :/
It feels like that's what people expect. Too much.
But seriously, once these documents are well dug into, we might find better stuff.
Well when we're told that the next release of leaks will change history, we expect a little more than snide remarks or silly playground gossip.

The government has no right to withhold information but men still do. These people in charge still have a right to privacy when it comes to pointless stuff they say to eachother. Tell us about what the government does, keep the rest of these shitty leaks to yourself.
I'd like it if Assange could release something REALLY juicy about multinational corporations like McDonalds, Coke and stuff...
Now THAT would definitely stir things up

Oh yes, corruption in the US government is one thing, but a scandal inside McDonalds would send the US into riots!

If you write such things in official reports, then don't be such a bitch and just release them instead of saying that the world will die because you said that Cristina Kirchner is crazy in some official document.
I'm not going to say it's right that Assange is releasing these documents, but I like that he is.
[editline]30th November 2010[/editline]
Although, I'm with Regulas on his Assange needs to stfu thing.

So by your logic you have no right to withhold information from the government or the rest of the world then?
So by your logic you have no right to withhold information from the government or the rest of the world then?
Where did I say that? Yep, pretty sure I never said that, and you can't derive that from what I said either.

There's an argument to be made here, but that isn't it.

I don't think "official document" really has the meaning you think it has given most of these contain nothing more than personal opinions of various people in politics. These aren't the paper works for new laws or things sending us to war. They're basically glorified emails.
Goooo Wikileaks. We, the public, have every right to know what our leaders are doing.

Unless you come with proof, you really have no say. Who are you to say what kind of documents they are? How the fuck would you know where they came from?
Unless you come with proof, you really have no say. Who are you to say what kind of documents they are? How the fuck would you know where they came from?
Wh... who.... how the... What???
What do you mean what kind of documents they are? When did I ever claim to know where and what kind of documents there are? How is that relevant to anything? I'm just saying a bunch of these documents people are complaining about, which you can read for yourself, are just random politicians voicing their opinion. They're not declaring war or effecting the country. No one is going to act on them and go "Oh, x thinks that the royal family are douchebags, better start our secret plot to nuke them". No, these "official documents" are used as fuckin emails.

There is no way to know what is in the documents before you read them, therefore they should get released. Also, if you use documents like these as emails in which you rant about other heads of states and important people, you deserve to get burned.

Like I said in my original argument, people have this very exaggerated idea of what qualifies as "official documents". You want to burn people for using office paper for anything more than declaring world war 3, then you are part of this group. I support any actions our government takes being public, but documents are not actions and I get the feeling from how they promote themselves and the spin they put on their stuff that Wikileaks is nothing more than a hatemonger.
Strike that.
