Microsoft says PS4 is outselling Xbox One because PS3 didn't satisfy customers

How did they expect to use this as an argument?
Even if what they're saying was true, I would have taken it as Sony having listened to whatever mistakes they had made that made the PS3 so 'unsatifying' and improved on it the next gen.
You know. Something Microsoft hasn't done.

in general they seem to have completely reversed (in the wrong way)
Everyone wanted a PS3 until the price was revealed, then 360 actually ended up beating sony for half the gen. Then Sony made a miracle comeback.
Couple that with the fact that nearing the end of both console's lifespan, the PS3 is STILL receiving exclusives, while the last exclusive to be released on the 360 was what? A racing or sports game? I'm not sure, I haven't heard of it.
What kind of argument is this? i still prefer Xbox tho
I liked my 360 a lot, but I have come to enjoy my ps3 so much more over the last 2 years

Nice Yeti mic. Solid choice.
The Dreamcast and the Vita have both outsold the 360 in Japan too. When the three consoles best known as failures have sold more than you, you know you're not doing well.
That's probably because the 360 is utterly filled with sports, shooter and racing games, especially shooters. Almost every exclusive title that's meant to sell the 360 is generally something the Japanese don't like in comparison to the large variety the Dreamcast had, and even the Wii U and Vita are shaping up to have more variety. The Vita having a cashcow like Persona 4 on it at launch helped.
To be fair, the PS3 had a terrible launch just like the Xbox One did
It was more than just a terrible launch for consumers (price and lack of games), unlike the Xbox One the PS3 was impossible to develop for for the first year or so. The dev tools (and dev kits themselves) were atrocious and support from Sony was almost nonexistent. I've heard plenty of developers candidly say the PS3 launch was literally the worst launch of any hardware and software platform they've ever had to be involved with. There are a couple companies from last gen who got big simply because they figured out the PS3 early and did a shitton of port jobs for people.
But the PS3 did fine. My point is people should calm down and realize none of this matters 4 years from now. Both of these consoles will have long healthy lifespans (which is a good thing) and everyone should stop caring so much about things that aren't the games. That's why we buy these consoles to start with right?
It's not a fucking hard problem to figure out. Better hardware + cheaper = better sales than competition.
What if people aren't satisfied with their 360 so they are upgrading to a PS4
Suck it Microsoft
I'm surprised we can still here Microsoft from so deep in that grave.
I laugh at the fact... that microsoft used to be the best, and now in this modern day they become the worst... The same goes to EA, Activision, Blizzard (argueable), Nintendo, and Square Soft/Enix...
God damn this make me feel old, i lived long enough to witness great titles from the hands of these corporations. I remember enjoying Age of Mythology and Age of Empires (Microsoft), Turok Dinosaur Hunter (Activision/Acclaim), Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 (Blizzard), Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island (Nintendo), and Actraiser and Final Fantasy 7 (Square Soft/enix).
Now today, they are not making so much grand titles as they did before, they turn to greed before content. We become more and more aware, and now the industry is almost killing itself... almost.
We could point to any number of things.
Yeah, you really could make anything up.
Uh, the PS3 was the one that did terribly when it first came out, and to this day it has been lagging behind the 360. How could the 360 be behind on release? It came out a year before the PS3 and outsold it for a couple of years, it wasn't until 3-4 years into the generation that the PS3 caught up.
Numbers are all about end game.
What does it matters if your product raked in a million the first week unlike the others who didn't sell a thing, but ultimately got caught up in the long run?
That's like saying you were ahead of the race in the first minute, but then finished second or third.
It was sort of a mistake to sell the PS3 for 600$, but I guess they didn't really have much of a choice with the blu-ray and that expensive chipset or whatever...

Well if you listen to Microsoft's insano logic, the Kinect makes XB1 the console with the better hardware and a better price considering what's all in the package.
I don't know how they managed to focus so hard on the Kinect it's even blinded their analysts (apparently), but with the (recent? upcoming?) no Kinect bundle it seems someone's started seeing clearer.
If I get a new console, it's a PS4, because I didn't like all the bullshit Microsoft tried to pull before releasing Xbone.

Nintendo hasn't really changed at all, though. They still don't do microtransactions, they still make interesting enough games in their non-Mario lines, and they still seem to want to innovate at the expense of profit.
And, because of that, they're in a place where they really don't have to worry about profit. They're hemorrhaging money to the tune of $250m per year, and they can do that until 2057. That's pretty impressive for a company that's "turned to greed before content."
That doesn't nessacarily mean I enjoy the 360 more just because other people do.
I play PS3 for one reason and one reason alone. Games. I can't enjoy the 360 system with its slow boot load times and the bullshit 'can't move the 360 while disc in tray'. That, and I can't find any games for it.
You enjoy your 360. I have and always will be a sony fan. No taking away from that.
I'll get a PS4 soon as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes out.

There Wii-U is not doing too great, it's becoming what the dreamcast became... They cancelling most of their Wii stuff, and the reason why they still surviving is because they doing tons of business in china.
What Wii stuff are they cancelling? The online stuff?
That's all because of GameSpy shutting down.
If they weren't satisfied with their ps3s then where are your Xbone sales MS?

I feel as though they wern't taking their time when deciding to release the XboxONE. They just thought that the word one was genius, as that's how long it took them to think of the name.
[sp]Big Bang Theory ftw[/sp]
Not quite. The PS4 is outselling the Xbox One because the Xbox One didnt satisfy consumers.
I can't tell you how many people I know, myself included, jumped ship from Xbox to PlayStation this generation.
Only reason I would even consider an Xbone at this point is Super Time Force, and that's not enough to sell it.
Whatever makes you sleep at night. Say, how come you sold Xbox to Sony
Oh go fuck off the edge of my dick Microsoft, everything you say is a joke.
what does that even mean
if yo dick have edges see a doctor
"PlayStation sucks so much that people are buying more PlayStations that Xbox's!" - Microsoft
I refuse to buy either Xbone and PS4 because the only thing I dislike about the 360 or PS3 are the controllers. If I could use the Xbone controller on my 360 and PS3, i'd have absolutely no need to upgrade. Except for new games I want like Halo 5 or Gran Turismo.

I wouldn't say the Xbox One itself is a horrible system. Infact, generally speaking it seems like it'd be partially able to even up as a competitor to a degree. It's just that the game selection isn't very stellar, yet the first impressions and the fact that the system is geared towards all-in-one entertainment turned a lot of gamers off from the system and they haven't looked back once. Can't say it's hard to disagree, since Microsoft keeps flipflopping everywhere on their opinions and actions in the matters.
this thread is like forum at gametrailers full of fanboyism and little kids.

PS2 vs Xbox? PS2 won, being the best seller of all time
PS3 vs x360? PS3 also won that last time I heard about it. Even the wii outsold the x360, but it also outsold the PS3.
PS4 vs X1? Yeah, MS knows it...
There was also an MS console before the xbox but retailers took it off the shelves before it even existed to make room for more PS1's
realtalk I only dust off my 360 for a gaming sesh with mates then it goes back in the cupboard for six months until it's my turn to host again
