doesn't matter what it looks like, I just think shooting a living creature and posing for a grinning photo over the body is a pretty horrible thing to do. wow u shot a deer, great fuckin work son.
I know your flagdog says UK, but are you seriously telling me you've never seen a fisherman or a hunter with a trophy kill? I'm afraid target shooting isn't all we do with guns over here. Honestly as long as the guy isn't carrying the deer's head in his mouth and sporting a raging hard-on, I don't get the big deal. There are millions of deer here, in-fact if I were at home right now I absolutely guarantee you'd see at least fifteen a day pass through my backyard, just eating whatever their dumbass necks can reach.
http://blog.nature.org/science/2013/08/22/too-many-deer/ Deers are killing the fucking planet. I suppose you can pay thousands of people who'd run around forests chopping deer balls off if you can afford, but IMO shooting them is cheaper and more effective. Still, feel free.
It's not that hard to figure out? I thought it was pretty general knowledge that a lot of families that hunt teach their kids from an early age?
Here in the UK kids get toy guns confiscated by police. Weapons - nevermind in the hands of children - are an unreachable thing for most. When asked what he enjoyed most about living in America, Gavin from SloMoGuys/RoosterTeeth simply said "Fucking guns man!" I was roped in to pulling a skinned deer out the back of someone's car and hanging it on a hook in the Garage. Very surreal experience considering how rare game hunting is here.
Killing animals is not for everyone. My dad shot a monkey once (we still have the skull) and had to hold a pig when someone else opened its throat to kill it, it wasn't the most pleasant experience, but it was something to behold anyway. That monkey skull is fucking dope though :v:
Boars can be real fucking mean. I'm really glad the only thing we have around here is coyotes.
hello
he should just be shooting practice targets, fucking little shit just took an animal out for no god damn reason a regular buck that spreads like wildfire in the area, fine sure, eat it for meat, but a fuckin rare albino deer? the dad that taught him should be castrated, dickwad.
Someones a vegan. [editline]22nd October 2014[/editline] I haven't been hunting in a while now that I think about it. Should I go for deer or boar this time of year?

I'm guessing you think you can put a stand anywhere and they will just walk out right? Killing a deer, ESPECIALLY a mature buck such as that one takes a lot of knowledge, patience, and hard work. It takes days upon days of scouting areas, learning the terrain, learning about the local deer movement patterns, diet, activity cycles, and multitudes of other variables that determine the success of a hunt. All of those months of preparations and hard work to try and outsmart a mature buck that could quickly run away at the smell or sound of even the slightest fart. It takes knowledge, skill, hard work, and dedication to be able to outsmart a mature buck. Being proud that you've accomplished this and that you're part of a centuries old tradition is perfectly fine in my book as long as it's not solely for trophy purposes. And being someone who deer hunts every year, there is always a deep feeling of respect for the animal you've just taken. If you think all it is is just "shooting a deer", then you have a lot to learn about the subject....
That's going to make one hell of a trophy.
doesn't matter what it looks like, I just think shooting a living creature and posing for a grinning photo over the body is a pretty horrible thing to do. wow u shot a deer, great fuckin work son.
What crawled up your ass and died? It's not like they left it there to rot and did nothing with it.
They're doing what I would have, it's one of the best trophy kills in years. And to anyone who thinks this is awful, do keep in mind that deer are basically giant rodents who do nothing but eat flowers and plants in the neighborhood and shit everywhere. Not to mention they fuck like rabbits and often cause traffic accidents because they're like lemmings waiting to die in the middle of the road. This kid got to it before anyone else, it was only a matter of time before somebody killed it, this kid happened to be in the right place at the right time.
I for one would eat what's edible and make the head into a trophy, but I don't condemn their choice either. I would just be more interested into the great meal rather than a full trophy :v:
Boar meat is fucking glorious.
Oh my god I know, I'm going for boar. I'll mail you some boar jerky, whats postage from US to france? ;-;
They feel the sensation of something touching them, but they do not experience "pain" as we know it. Regardless, it is a bit beside the point at this time. Sorry I let assumptions about my stray the topic of the thread :)
I'm pretty sure that if you made an incision on a fish it would start flipping the fuck out, which would be a pain response. Just because you can't hear cries of anguish and suffering doesn't mean it doesn't have a pain response.
Oh my god I know, I'm going for boar. I'll mail you some boar jerky, whats postage from US to france? ;-;
Way too god damn expensive, that's what.
Also just a reminder that overpopulation of deer can wreak havoc to eco-systems. And before you start screaming "THOSE ARE ELK YOU MORON", elk are a large species of deer.
omg I can't believe he put that deer through a relatively quick and painless death, the monster. We shouldn't interfere with nature, it's so disrespectful, I'm sure the deer would prefer being violently mauled which would probably happen because it can't hide for shit with white fur. get over yourselves. Seriously if you don't understand hunting or fishing, then don't comment on why it's wrong or how barbaric it is or actually fucking wish violence on someone you don't know. Seriously a kid shooting a deer is much less barbaric than some of the comments made by some stupid people in this thread. I used to think it was a bit silly doing the whole posing thing, but then I had an opportunity to go fishing for the first time and I swear to god getting your first catch is such an amazing feeling, and of course you can't help but want a picture to cherish the moment later on. Can't even imagine how fantastic it would feel to catch game like this kid did.
As an avid lifelong hunter, it still perplexes me to this day that some people don't realize that humans are the most natural predator for deer. Deer hunting has existed for over 10,000 years. If the hunting of deer was stopped, the results would be nothing short of catastrophic.

I see no problem with hunting, they keep the population balanced, they sell fur and meat for the various markets. For some hunting is a way of survival and deserves respect.
