You don't need to be in prison to be saved from a forced marriage.

Well, I understand most Indian and Pakistani families look down on forced marriage in much the same way most people in the West look down on people who deny their kids medical aid for religious reasons.

My own folks had an arranged marriage, which is completely different. My father and my mother knew each other for fifteen days before they were married. They spent time together, and each had a choice. The match, apparently, had been made by their parents, who thought their personalities would fit well together.

Even if as someone who grew up in Canada, it makes little sense to me, I suppose they were right, because they've been married for 26 years now.

You cant count the amounts of forced marriages happen in turkey. The mothers are usually like
-You'll be with someone rich, you'll live a happy life!
or
-They'll get used to theirselves, just give them time!

I must say i'm disgusted by these kinds of movements and i'm not proud of these happening in my country.
