Regardless it still probably hurt like hell. I think I speak for just about everyone on facepunch when I say I'd be on the ground after one bullet.
Depending on the situation I'd say quite a few of the facepunchers here wouldn't even realize they were shot at the time [editline]1st January 2012[/editline]
We spend more time getting blown up and watching our friends get blown up and maimed by IED's and other shit, sir, than anything else. Thank you for your thoughtful post nonetheless.
bull fucking shit I'd wager you spent about 99% of your time bored as hell, and 1% in the shit [editline]1st January 2012[/editline]
Why did he bring his kids if he thought this?
Well he doesn't seem to be a Mensa member.
"I'm a Marine and I'm not going to run from a fight," Trenker said. "You wouldn't want a Marine to run from a fight. Call me crazy, call me stupid. I got shot once and it just angered me more. I wanted to get this guy. I got shot twice, and I re-evaluated that decision. I decided I need to stay alive."
Why the fuck don't they have armour?
Why the fuck don't they have armour?
Someone read the article eh ?
Why the fuck don't they have armour?
his teenage son in the backseat was wearing the armor at the time
his teenage son in the backseat was wearing the armor at the time
Why was his son on the battlefield? That was sarcasm, btw.
Reminded me of Far Cry 2's emergency healing cutscenes.
Why the fuck don't they have armour?
Probably because he was in Florida, not Afghanistan.
Call me crazy, call me stupid.
Yeah, you are pretty crazy and stupid. Your medical bills will cost more than that gold necklace. Good job, dumbass.
Yeah, you are pretty crazy and stupid. Your medical bills will cost more than that gold necklace. Good job, dumbass.
And Health Insurance will cover most, if not all of the cost. My nephew had a $150,000 surgery and health insurance paid for all of it.
Another reason not to use Craig's list
And Health Insurance will cover most, if not all of the cost. My nephew had a $150,000 surgery and health insurance paid for all of it.
The cost is just offloaded to everyone else. I'd appreciate it if people like this didn't go chase after people with guns over a stupid necklace so my insurance rates don't keep going up.
This is crazy! What a story, seriously.
People like this are the reason America is still standing.
Reminds me of that guy that used a tampon to plug a bullet hole he got at a shooting range accident.
I remember reading some time ago that various people teach using a tampon as a makeshift way to stop the bleeding caused by gun shot wounds. To be honest, I think if I had been shot and there wasn't anything else around I'd give it a try. [editline]1st January 2012[/editline]
A bullet is still a bullet, whether it's a 9mm or a .22, it's still gonna bleed and it's still gonna hurt. Maybe it wouldn't have been his fingers, he probably would've ripped off clothing or something.
I suspect anything bigger than a .22 would have caused more damage to him than he could have solved without medical equipment to hand. A bullet doesn't just go threw a body with 2 equal size holes, they fuck up the insides of a person and then leave an exit wound on the other side several times bigger than the entry wound.
Well he doesn't seem to be a Mensa member.
Probably not, but I'd rather have a guy with courage next to me then someone who believes intelligence is the greatest quality a person can have.
The cost is just offloaded to everyone else. I'd appreciate it if people like this didn't go chase after people with guns over a stupid necklace so my insurance rates don't keep going up.
So would you like to pay for the gold necklace instead?
Nothing like some good old Marine ego masturbation
Thats a good way to get an infection [editline]1st January 2012[/editline] I mean yeah he probably didn't have anything else to work with but still
"I'm a Marine and I'm not going to run from a fight," Trenker said. "You wouldn't want a Marine to run from a fight. Call me crazy, call me stupid. I got shot once and it just angered me more. I wanted to get this guy."
I can't help but imagine the situation when he's running after the robber covered in blood with this face that is the very definition of HATRED.
Apply pressure to the wound is what you should do obviously. Not implying anything negative here, he's a trained soldier carved out of fucking wood. [release] "Call me crazy, call me stupid. I got shot once and it just angered me more. I wanted to get this guy. I got shot twice, and I re-evaluated that decision. I decided I need to stay alive."[/release]
They shot him with 22? I guess he wasn't wearing denim.

"Boris, just fucking hit the boulder before I slide down into this bed of nails forever!"
Marines better remember who they work for [sp] the navy [/sp]
The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy, the MENS Department.
So much silly patriotism in this thread it almost hurts.
So much silly patriotism in this thread it almost hurts.
I think it's less patriotism and most people just having cool military forces. I mean, you're not going to deny that your soldiers are great just because they're yours, are you? I wonder if this guy will get a Badass of the Week article, since this is one of those action-hero type things that you see in movies, only with medical bills.
Another reason not to use Craig's list
What the hell is up with all the bad juju oozing off of craigslist? Are 3/4 of the people there lunatics or something?
I got an image of that angry space marine when i read "I got shot once and it just angered me more"
Regardless it still probably hurt like hell. I think I speak for just about everyone on facepunch when I say I'd be on the ground after one bullet.
Sometimes they say it's almost painless probably because of the adrenaline and/ or shock.
