I think it's less patriotism and most people just having cool military forces. I mean, you're not going to deny that your soldiers are great just because they're yours, are you? I wonder if this guy will get a Badass of the Week article, since this is one of those action-hero type things that you see in movies, only with medical bills.
What soldiers? It's one man and he wasn't even on duty.
Holy fuck he's nearly 50 and still in the Marines.
it says he's a veteran
Holy fuck, that must of hurt so much. That guy is the definition of badass.
Why the fuck don't they have armour?
a well know fact about the Marines is you have body armor permanently welded to your torso once your service ends
What soldiers? It's one man and he wasn't even on duty.
Marines in general, I mean. After all, I doubt this guy would have been so quick to chase them if he wasn't trained, which is why people are saying Marine training is good. Which it is.
it says he's a veteran
it also says hes rejoining the marines
Marines: naval infantry who devote too much time to circle jerking each-other and coming up with motivational material.
JaegerMonster: A sad person who puts down an armed force to feel better about his sad little life
Jesus, the guy wasn't even concerned about dying until the SECOND bullet wound.
JaegerMonster: A sad person who puts down an armed force to feel better about his sad little life
Well if we're making broad generalizations shouldn't you fit the qualifications for a "sad little life"? I mean, you're both on the Internet and insulting people.
And Health Insurance will cover most, if not all of the cost. The ONLY reason this is such huge news is because he's a marine. There are countless people who survive gunshot wounds. He didn't do anything "badass" or "EXTREME"; shoving your fingers into a wound just widens and irritates it, you need to direct pressure on it. The guy did something harmful and painful.
I'm not the one insulting people who, in bad times, would defend billions of people's lives
Think you're exaggerating just a bit.
I'm not the one insulting people who, in bad times, would defend billions of people's lives
Insulting people nonetheless.
Jesus, the guy wasn't even concerned about dying until the SECOND bullet wound.
it's called adrenaline, plus the guy is probably hardwired to avoid the initial shock of being hit with something like a bullet. Seriously, sorry to ruin your fun, but this guy did your ordinary reaction to being shot. And in some ways, worse
You must live in a valley dedicated to hard motherfuckers.
Just an understanding of the human body. You and I, in the right circumstances, can do the same thing this guy did. Only I would shove my hands into my body and make the wound worse.
Just an understanding of the human body. You and I, in the right circumstances, can do the same thing this guy did. Only I would shove my hands into my body and make the wound worse.
If I were shot I know I'd constrict the wound to cut of the blood flow and stay where I was - in fact I did just that when I lost a huge chunk of my left thumb, so I'd hardly say my first instinct was to jam my finger in the wound.
Marines also use tampons to plug bullet holes as well.
I'm a military kid, dad is a retired marine and I live outside of a large base (Jacksonville, NC). I used to never understand why any branch of the military would be so cocky, especially the Marines. But fuck, I prefer a group of indisputably well trained men and women that think they're the toughest shit on earth rather than being modest about it. Dad also instilled in me a sense of pride for him and other family members in the service, and I wish I could get rid of that. I get butthurt over people calling an entire "branch" of the military stupid or when the marines call individuals that fight adjacent to them pussies for having different skill sets. I can't help but think how two individuals fighting for the same cause would be so competitive. Just would like to throw that out there and maybe a bit of insight could be provided. Thread has already seem quite a few critical post about the marines, I don't hold them as gods but only respect their occupation. Years ago my dad was pissed at me because I told him America was stupid for not converting to metric. Not exactly pissed, but he told me "Shame on you", and that absolutely crushed me at that age. Guess he took it as I was attacking America and him as well. Sorry if this seems a little off topic. Alright, a lot off topic.
JaegerMonster: A sad person who puts down an armed force to feel better about his sad little life
ahahahahaha join the marines and get shot please
Sorry if this seems a little off topic. Alright, a lot off topic.
Your dad sounds like the Soldier from TF2.
I can't help but imagine the situation when he's running after the robber covered in blood with this face that is the very definition of HATRED.
Being chased by someone with this face would be pretty terrifying... One bullet in me and I'd most likely get the fuck out of there or hide and call for help.
JaegerMonster: A sad person who puts down an armed force to feel better about his sad little life
wow due you pwnd him!!!
I'm not the one insulting people who, in bad times, would defend billions of people's lives
pfftahahahahaa dude theres 8 billion people on earth and 300 million in america even if you're fucking deluded enough to believe that the armed forces are currently protecting anyone its utterly moronic to imply that they defend billions of people, so give it up seriously who are they protecting? what happens when we stop playing world police and leave the rest of the world alone? you think every year they'll be pulling a 9/11 anniversary bombing just to mess with us? some terrorists had one good day and they had to buy plane tickets to do it, and because of this you honestly think that our invasion of every fucking country on earth that has more than 6 brown people in it is some sort of crusade for freedom, justice, and safety? are you seriously so blindly patriotic that you think after years and years of civilian casualties, absolutely insane amounts of spending, and the destruction of an entire region of the earth, we're still fighting the good fight? explain to me how the fuck the armed forces are protecting anyone, or stop wanking about how great and honorable the armed forces are for protecting "billions of people".
Being chased by someone with no face would be much more terrifying.
Slenderman represent
Most people aren't going to pursuit the fucker that shot them like a scene from Terminator. One bullet in me and I'd most likely get the fuck out of there or hide and call for help.
no youd be on the ground bleeding out
no youd be on the ground bleeding out
but this brave marines training clearly prevented his body from shutting down due to major blood loss thank god for his training otherwise he would have bled out like any other sissy
I know I'm going to get boxed for this, my avatar being one of two reasons, but... [sp]Doomguy in real life?[/sp]
I know I'm going to get boxed for this, my avatar being one of two reasons, but... [sp]Doomguy in real life?[/sp]
The Doomguy doesn't need to plug bullet holes because he rips and tears his enemies and their guts before they can shoot.
Reminds me of that guy that used a tampon to plug a bullet hole he got at a shooting range accident.
That's actually standard issue stuff now. Seals especially carry bags of tampons, pads and instert-y ones to plug bullet holes because they absorb blood and expand well.
