It's not ideal, but it absorbs the blood.
your fingers? not so much, you're better with just applying pressure.
no youd be on the ground bleeding out
depends on where you've been shot. Lot of people can move and speak after being shot.
no youd be on the ground bleeding out
I'd call for help at least. This wasn't a murder attempt but a simple snatch and run.
The ONLY reason this is such huge news is because he's a marine. There are countless people who survive gunshot wounds. He didn't do anything "badass" or "EXTREME"; shoving your fingers into a wound just widens and irritates it, you need to direct pressure on it. The guy did something harmful and painful.
Think you're exaggerating just a bit.
Surprisingly not really, if a force were threatening the lively hood of EVERYONE in the world, the marines would most certainly be included in the destruction of that force.
wow due you pwnd him!!!
pfftahahahahaa
dude theres 8 billion people on earth and 300 million in america
even if you're fucking deluded enough to believe that the armed forces are currently protecting anyone its utterly moronic to imply that they defend billions of people, so give it up
seriously who are they protecting? what happens when we stop playing world police and leave the rest of the world alone? you think every year they'll be pulling a 9/11 anniversary bombing just to mess with us? some terrorists had one good day and they had to buy plane tickets to do it, and because of this you honestly think that our invasion of every fucking country on earth that has more than 6 brown people in it is some sort of crusade for freedom, justice, and safety? are you seriously so blindly patriotic that you think after years and years of civilian casualties, absolutely insane amounts of spending, and the destruction of an entire region of the earth, we're still fighting the good fight?
explain to me how the fuck the armed forces are protecting anyone, or stop wanking about how great and honorable the armed forces are for protecting "billions of people".
Hey buddy, did you miss the part where I said "in bad times"? I didn't say "now are protecting..." I said in bad times.
[editline]1st January 2012[/editline]
Nor did I mention the Middle Eastern conflict in any sort of way, stop trying to push your pretentious angst thoughts into a discussion.

applying pressure with shirt or hand *weighs in hand* sticking your finger into an open wound in hopes of stopping the bleeding

Why the fuck would you want the blood to be absorbed?
That stuff is kind of important
less absorption and more keeping that shit inside where it belongs
Why the fuck would you want the blood to be absorbed?

again, it's really crap, but it's better than bleeding out.
Tampons don't hold that much blood, and it keeps the blood from spilling out even more.
[editline]2nd January 2012[/editline]
So they can have the NATO fight half their battles?
NATO gave them air support for the most part, even then, that failed a lot when they kept bombing the rebels by accident.
it says he's a veteran

Trenker said he intends to have a good holiday meal, get started on physical therapy and eventually return to active duty at the Marine Corps unit attached to the Miami-based U.S. Southern Command. His job there involves operations planning for counternarcotics and counterterrorism missions, one of which recently resulted in seizure of a 4,400-pound cocaine load off Honduras worth some $245 million.
He's a veteran still in the Marine Corps.
He was heard saying "I saw some guy do it in Far Cry 2" off mic.

Just a FYI, anyone who has an ok muscle mass or a large mass of fat can easily not get stunned by a single .22 It depends more on your mental health so you don't go into shock. Otherwise adrenaline will reduce the pain.
Obviously good training saved him but it has little to do with him being a marine.
JaegerMonster: A sad person who puts down an armed force to feel better about his sad little life
Hahaha
Take a cursory glance at my post history dude. Notice that 9/10 in any thread regarding the military, I speak pretty highly of armed forces in general.
Now with that said, the US Marines spend more time than any other military or paramilitary organization on the earth, blowing hot smoke up each others arses and coming up with motivational material.
And you know what, the ironic thing is majority of that crap comes from Marines who aren't even in combat roles.
I have mad respect for anyone who's got enough balls to be an infantryman or the like. It's a tough, dirty and dangerous job. But please, Marines don't do anything that the US Army or any other similar military unit doesn't.
The comment I made in that post wasn't even intended as serious, but if some people want to get butthurt over their favorite branch fetish, there it is.
But please, Marines don't do anything that the US Army or any other similar military unit does.
I'd imagine being shot after the arduous and rage-inducing task of chasing somebody who was running from a beating makes a man extremely angry. You could probably draw blood from his arm during that ordeal, bottle it, and sell it as an energy drink.

I've met Lt. Col. Trenker once in Miramar and then once on one of my deployments to Afghanistan. He really is the epitome of what every Marine should aspire to becoming.
Google "blood stripes hazing". It's very similar to what they are doing in that picture. Pretty much the most painful experience in my life, worse than getting shot even.
Wait so what exactly is being done in ''blood stripe hazing''?
New Chuck Norris!
Jesus that's incredible and creative, I'd just lie on the ground and bleed to death while calling for help!
