Jackie Chan to retire from action films after 'Chinese Zodiac'

It's sad to see him retire, I really liked him since I was little.
I still wanted to see him kick Chuck Norris' smug ass though.
I think it is proper to mention Jackie's unaided battle with Bruce Lee.

Hopefully my avatar serves as a memorial.

His face at the end got me.
My friend and I just watched Little Big Soldier earlier today, too.
I absolutely love Jackie Chan. He has such a great sense of humor (I mean, that movie starts with him [sp]surviving a war [as a soldier] by wearing a fake arrow going through him and pretending to be dead.[/sp] :v:).
Even in more serious films, like Little Big Soldier, he's just so silly - like when he's [sp]running away from a group of barbarians who are chasing him, he picks up stones and throws them at the barbarians, hitting them all in the eye - every time he lifts his hand afterwards, the barbarians flinch and cover their faces with axes, not wanting to get hit in the eye again[/sp]).
I am greatly saddened to hear he is retiring from action films, though I greatly respect his decision, and wish the very best for him.
im gonna kill you now
Damn, I want Jean Reno back in his best years.
Jackie Chan always was once of my favorite actors.
Jackie Chan's my hero, sad to see him retire from doing stunts but he deserves a rest after going through all those life-staking stunts just to entertain the audience.
As sad as it is, I'd love to see him in dramatic roles now.
Hard to really take him seriously, since he done comedy. Some of the movies he starred in were dreadful.
Rush Hours were awesome
I loved Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights.
Jackie Chan's 58 Now?
Oh man.
...And then you realize you are going to see the days when Jackie Chan, Stallone and Schwarzenegger die.
Oh man, now that's a depressing thought.
Hello All my friends and fans,
Yesterday in my press conference in Cannes for Chinese 12 Zodiac I said that this movie was my last big action movie.
Today I was shocked when I woke up to read all the news coverage that I was retiring from doing Action movies.
I just want to let everyone know that I am not retiring from doing action movies. What I meant to say is that I need to do less of the life risking stunts on my movies. After all these years of doing so many stunts and breaking so many bones, I need to take better care of my body so I can keep working.
I will continue to do international action movies.
And I will keep improving my English :-)
I love all of you!

In my opinion, one of the best choreographed fights ever in cinematography.
Interesting fact... at the 03:52 mark, Benny Urquidez kicks so goddamn hard and fast, he extinguishes the flames on the candle.
And don't fucking forget about Drunken Master II, shit was so cash.

Holy shit, if he can do that without even hurting the guy, god only knows how bad he would fuck you up in a real fight.
Jackie chan getting old?
this dude was old when he was in his 20s, he has so many injuries it's insane. I'm pretty sure there is a book that talks about how he was pretty much in extreme daily pain during his 30s from back injuries.
He's gotta be tough as hell.
Here's the link to the message that Jackie isn't retiring.

This was all blown out of proportion I guess, i'm glad he'll keep making movies. But i'm also scared, he's getting older you know.
Manly tears will be shed when any one of the following kicks the dirt:
- Jackie Chan
- Clint Eastwood
- Bruce Willis
- Sylvester Stallone
- Arnold Schwarzenegger

going to miss this guy's acting
I heard he's actually a good drama actor in Chinese films or something like that. I bet the American film industry doesn't take him seriously just because he can't speak English well.
He is actually very famous in China and is most of their big (Chinese) hollywood like films. He makes shit tons of money there.
