The internet needs to be reformed with zones of higher and lower privacy/security. Kinda like EVE online, except with less interstellar travel.
Somehow.

/b/ is obviously 0.0.
Laws like this are to protect people from the ones that take bullying to the next level. Such as following them online and pushing the victim to the edge, jumping them ect.
Assaulting people is already illegal.

If people can't handle being on the internet because people are mean then they should get off the internet or go to a different site.
If they kill themselves because someone is mean to them then they have deeper problems and it's not the asshole's fault.
That's not what fascism is either, but that isn't the debate for this thread.
Well no it isn't, not by actual definition; in practical use however, it is. Fascism requires collective identity, and the only way for that to exist is to suppress the beliefs of dissenters.
kids won't learn anything with stupid laws
bring back capital punishment and don't push laws on the internet. a kid will learn better by getting a spanking.
I don't think that you understand the purpose of a prison
The purpose of a prison is to wall off a prisoner from society to keep the public safe from them, not to punish prisoners. Stop being vengeful.
Not really, Cyberbullying can be just as worse seeing as the person thinks because they're behind a computer they're protected.
If they can't take the cyber bullying they can click the fucking ignore button. Cyberbullying is dumber then that girl who claimed she was "raped" in Playstation home. If you are having that many problems on the internet then feel free to click the red X in the upper right hand of the screen.

It depends. Some prisoners are there to be punished and/or reformed, while others are there simply to be tucked away from society.

Capital punishment? You think Timmy should be executed for dropping his pencil?
I think you mean corporal punishment.
I hope this works.
You guys don't understand how bad cyberbullying can get, I mean, the assumption that cyber-bullying amounts to IMing people and saying "lole youre a FAG 8======D"
Is no more accurate than the assumption that regular bullying amounts to big kids taking lunch money from 2nd graders. Cyber-bullying can get pretty bad (get someone's Facebook password and make everyone hate them, frame them for altering grades, link them to nimp) and as it stands there isn't any legislation (outside of Massachussetts) preventing that.

Yes there is. There have always been laws against it.

Its the users responsibility to secure there account, if they are to dumb to make a strong password and recovery question then they shouldn't complain when this kind of stuff happens. Having an important internet account protected by a shitty password and recovery question when you know someone is after you(or ever) is like walking through Detroit late at night with a huge wad of cash sticking out of your pocket and kicking every gang member you see in the balls and not expect to get killed/robbed.

That's a blatant hyperbole and you know it. The laws are there to protect us from gang members taking said wad of cash anyway, we should be able to have the peace of mind that we won't be robbed on the streets.
