Do you want attention that badly
i wanted to express my feelings on this subject and discuss kotick am i wrong for thinking you skip posts that don't stand out because i certainly do [editline]28th December 2010[/editline]
We're calling you stupid because your argument is stupid and you're spewing stupid things.
well i'm glad to see you are willing to stoop to my level and make sure a thread became about my posting habbits if you are done, i'd like to go back on the subject at hand
if you are done, i'd like to go back on the subject at hand
OK Kotick isn't a good CEO

I would like to see per-word statistics from COD chat. I would like to see if "noob" or "faggot" is most used word.
but i feel i've digressed too much if you guys really feel upset about kotick, i'm afraid i have something very bad to tell you, it's gonna go on for a very long time the problem with gaming by kotick is that even though we can pretend we are powerless, we really are not. kotick is only where he is because we the consumer have made it that way. if a person wants to make an indie game that is completely great and innovative, he's gonna find himself running out of thread very quickly. only through the power of minecraft's and other's fanbase have those games really lived and how many indie games can we say have completely failed? probably more than you can count activision is by its root a publisher and we might disagree with the awful way they conduct business, they do one thing very well, sell games but i don't think most of you take this seriously when you see images of the "anti-activision group" playing call of duty in droves. it's frustrating to see and you shouldn't fall pray to posting insults. only by becoming part of the community that centers around these games will you see them spring to life i really think the only thing keeping cortex command alive is the fanbase, how serious is facepunch about this, because what i mostly see is a whole lot of anger and dumb insults about something they don't quite fully understand [editline]28th December 2010[/editline]
OK Kotick isn't a good CEO
CEO's are about making money i don't think you are giving valve's CEO enough credit but go to the TF2 forum here at facepunch and you'll see a lot of people suddenly don't have a high opinion of him
if kotick tried to do anything you guys would like to see, he'd get fired
I know if I was head of a dev team, Activision is the last place I'd want to go and work.
i wouldn't be so quick to say that all a dev really wants is a paycheck to pay off his education bills. people like notch usually begin games like minecraft when they already have a job [editline]28th December 2010[/editline]
Yeah, since he started charging 15 dollars per hat Too bad he'll keep doing it because people are actually paying that much
this you can blame valve for because they are completely in charge of everything but i don't really think any of that stuff really ruins TF2
i would actually wager it's more related to just boredom of a game it's like world of warcraft, regardless of how many expansions the game gets, at one point it will get old valve should start working on something new i suppose
i wouldn't call them micro at the insane prices they sell them
it's likely a test bed be glad call of duty has nothing resembling micro-transactions at all if i recall correctly, most of the fuss as i remember it was over dedicated servers and blacks ops i think has them
Sadly Black Ops doesn't run very well on a lot of people's PCs, and there's no modding support currently, which they promised, so a lot of people aren't much happier.
Indeed, and the dedicated servers are only available if you rent them at a fixed price.
Indeed, and the dedicated servers are only available if you rent them at a fixed price.
same story with all the battlefield games though the battlefield games do have a better excuse, i find matchmaking compliments certain games better for instance TF2 matchmaking: awful idea Halo matchmaking: not a bad idea
Just look at that shit eating grin. Goddamn.
[img_thumb]http://www.escapistmagazine.com/images/display/47362.jpg[/img_thumb] Just look at that shit eating grin. Goddamn.
i doubt it's the grin you have a problem with this was exactly the kind of post that i think doesn't add anything to the discussion then again this post itself doesn't either so uh V:|V
"Multiplayer has been largely developed by Treyarch," Kotick asserted. "I don't think Treyarch got their due for how much they contributed in the production and polish to the multiplayer."
hahaha Bullshit, They just stole the format and changed it slightly.
For the record, the only thing I really hate Kotick for is that "Taking the fun out of making video games," and "establishing a corporate culture of "skepticism, pessimism, and fear" stuff,
hahaha Bullshit, They just stole the format and changed it slightly.
I wouldn't say slightly MW2's multiplayer is quite bad compared to BlOps [editline]28th December 2010[/editline]
For the record, the only thing I really hate Kotick for is that "Taking the fun out of making video games," and "establishing a corporate culture of "skepticism, pessimism, and fear" stuff,
i still think that's a joke though if i was a shareholder i'd be screaming down the telephone but i just think he's kind of dumb [editline]28th December 2010[/editline] in any case, joke or not, you're gonna get yourself fired with shit like that he won't care but still
I swear I read this last week somewhere else already
Fuck you, Kotick.
He's kind of right on this one.

I'd love Kotick to meet a group of the people that play COD.
I'd love Kotick to meet a group of the people that play this game.
i'd wager that a large majority don't know who he is
i'd wager that a large majority don't know who he is
Thinking about it now, he would realize they're a bit dense and buy any shit they churn out which would make him even worse.
Thinking about it now, he would realize they're a bit dense and buy any shit they churn out which would make him even worse.
he already knows. say what you will, but he knows how to make money.
he already knows. say what you will, but he knows how to make money.
Which is a problem since no one will want to get rid of him except us.
Which is a problem since no one will want to get rid of him except us.
I blame two factors. One is ignorance. A large majority of Activision consumers don't know who the guy is, and are only casual gamers who don't really care about the industry itself. They will continue to buy no matter what, as long as it's familiar. Two is the fact that Activision-published developers do produce some interesting games once in a while. This puts us in a bad position. We want to support the franchise and the developers who made it; however, this also means supporting Activision.
I hate this new "social" buzzword. Social this, social that, socialize, SOCIAL SOCIAL SOCIAL.
oooh im just a social drinker, if anyone say's i shall have a drink i say! "Social I!" shamelessly stolen from wow which fits right in really considering its from actiblizz
Hah, he's more of an idiot than I thought.
thisispain is kotick's alt account
