well when you take a moment and realize that she fucked a guy she didn't even know that's kinda bad don't you think
Nothing makes it bad, they did it when both were consensual.
well when you take a moment and realize that she fucked a guy she didn't even know that's kinda bad don't you think
who cares? nothing bad happened to her. now this dude faces 50 years in prison.
I always wonder why the time in jail isn't the age difference. 50 fucking years is OUTRAGEOUS
If that was how the law worked, a 27 year old having sex with a 17 year old would have the same consequences as a 14 year old having sex with a 4 year old.
who cares? nothing bad happened to her. now this dude faces 50 years in prison.
I don't think he deserves 50 years, but seriously, just because something happened to turn out fine doesn't mean everything is okay. She could have easily been raped or murdered by some fucking psycho, and just because it didn't happen this time doesn't mean we should just shrug it off and keep going. I can run out in front of a car, and maybe it'll stop, and if it does that doesn't mean I should think "Well, nothing bad happened, nothing wrong here." and keep running in front of cars. I should be pulled aside, slapped in the face, and told I'm a gigantic fucking idiot.
With cases like these I always want to hear the opinion of the victim in question. but they never give it out.
and just because it didn't happen this time doesn't mean we should just shrug it off and keep going.
actually yes it does laws are based on what happens, not what can happen. by your logic, everybody should be required to lock themselves in their houses because they may go outside and commit a crime stop living inside of a fucking bubble
So the guy has a thing for young girls. Alright, sure the whole thing was unethical, but when you come down to it, there isn't that much wrong. Thirteen isn't too young where she hadn't a clue what was going on, being so naive that it couldn't be consensual.

Risks should be taken, yes, because otherwise you never gain, but that doesn't mean you look at a car speeding down the road and go "Eh, why not take a chance and just fucking walk in front of it?"
she's a 13 year old girl of course she's going to make stupid fucking decisions. 50 years is too much but i'm worried over the number of people supporting him when he quite clearly was soliciting teenage girls over the internet, and nobody sees anything wrong with that.

The same shit you're saying could happen to anyone, not just to some 13 years old teen. You could meet someone online, invite them at your place, or go at their place, does that make you/he/she/it any more of rapist, murderer or anything? To these day, many will meet on the internet. You have to stop being such a pansy about those kind of stuff, not the whole human beings are some psycho. While I do agree that meeting in fuckall nowhere down the forest is kinda dumb by itself, this event wasn't one turning out to be something like rape or anything. It can happen, but won't always happen.
Quit fucking kids!
guess he should've killed her afterwards
Whenever something iffy like this with the consensual and age limit arguments comes up, I always think that if the girl was the older one and the one getting charged, she either wouldn't be getting charged or she would get off lightly.
same here, biased society we live in men (especially in the workplace) have to watch their step, vicious ladies (by far not the majority, but the very rare cases exist) often use sexual harassment as a way to bash colleagues
50 years? That's ridiculous.
she's a 13 year old girl of course she's going to make stupid fucking decisions. 50 years is too much but i'm worried over the number of people supporting him when he quite clearly was soliciting teenage girls over the internet, and nobody sees anything wrong with that.
It's really the 50 years part that I object to. That's absolutely absurd. I can't really say much about anything else because I don't know enough about the situation to make a statement one way or the other. Maybe he had a weird fetish and asked her to dress up as Iris from Taxi Driver, I dunno. 50 years for this is downright offensive and an affront to justice
HA! What a looser! He can't get girls his own age!
If the man were a priest, the most he would face would be 1-2 years.
He probably would have gotten a smaller sentence that way. No joke.
At least she wouldn't have to be "dealing with it (it being the apparently traumatic decision to have consensual sex) for the rest of her life," as the article so eloquently put.
50 fucking years?!?
While looking at the age of consent law in Latvia, noticed this: For a person who commits an act of sexual intercourse, or pederastic, lesbian or other unnatural sexual acts of gratification.
It kind of makes sense because even if she did give consent, it doesn't count. However 50 years is way too long.
He didn't deserve it, he was barely an adult and the girl was clearly aware of what she was doing.
He probably would have gotten a smaller sentence that way. No joke.
The justice system is so broken that it encourages rapists to kill their victims :suicide:
While I think fifty years is way too much he deserved some from of punishment because under the law he's an adult and she's a child
I would say it should be 2 years max to be honest.
since he's 19 and she just became a teen, some punishment is in order. 20 years maybe. But fucking 50?!
