Time to switch search engines. Fuck you Google. We're the people that made you big. You screw them over, you screw yourself over.
Time to switch search engines. Fuck you Google. We're the people that made you big. You screw them over, you screw yourself over.
Goodbye, while I use google to write terms manually. Never liked the autocomplete feature anyway

You can still search for these terms (so far), but they will not return autocomplete or instant search results.
What? [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] Oh, look, you can see what city I live in, what joy.
People will make new file format instead of torrent. Maybe .google?
Sue for what? It is a private company and a private website. Not having your website show up is not a right but a privilege. [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] google does not depend on the 5 thousand or so neck beards who will boycott them for this. everyone and their grandmother uses google. Grandmothers do not know or care what a torrent is.
Trust me, there's a lot more than just 5,000 of those 'neckbeards' out there, just in case you were unaware, most grandmothers use Yahoo, and the large majority of people who use google are not in fact "grandmothers", as you put it.
All you people making a big deal out of it are overreacting morons
Like people search for torrents on google anyway.

20 bucks you can type something like "Linux Distro Torr" and still get the torrent for it.
20 bucks you can type something like "Linux Distro Torr" and still get the torrent for it.
Tried "ubuntu tor" and got nothing
Yay.
They are NOT blocking any search results. They are blocking SUGGESTIONS. if you type "torr" in the search bar, it won't pop down and say "Torrent," it'll just show nothing, you can still type "torrent" and click search and get the same results as before. THIS ONLY EFFECTS THE SUGGESTIONS AND GOOGLE INSTANT, NOT SEARCH RESULTS.
I was replying to BANNED USER, I just didn't quote him.
Well how do you know I was replying to you? I simply clarified for the people who didn't read the OP.
Google already has the power to overrun us and it was our fault.
Google's policy: "Don't be evil." Yeah, right :rolleyes:
They replaced that years ago with an "evil scale" which lets them perform small acts of evil (like censoring these search terms) if it helps them perform large acts of evil (like making billions upon billion of dollars).
This is clearly the most important and the BEST way to stop piracy. Boxes from people who either don't get my sarcasm or take this really seriously and think it actually is a great way to stop piracy.
Or from people who think that enforcing anti piracy laws are a bad thing (Note: I rated you dumb)
This hardly makes a difference.
Are you honestly angry that you now have to press enter?
Murderers and rapists have nothing on pirates. :downs:
Murderers steal lives, rapists steal sex and pirates steal money by not buying games. If you don't see the correlation you must have downs.
Murderers steal lives, rapists steal sex and pirates steal money by not buying games. If you don't see the correlation you must have downs.
:( that's really mean. I have downs, don't compare me to him. :saddowns:
First if all, "setting a dangerous precedent" doesn't mean a thing when you can already do anything you want without repercussion, and secondly, all they're doing is making it look like Google is not condoning piracy by "suggesting" it.
Torrent != piracy.
Torrent != piracy.
Not for entertainment industry.
fucking google first they buy youtube and fuck it up the ass slowly but surely now more shit like this at least mediafire results still show up :)
Murderers steal lives, rapists steal sex and pirates steal money by not buying games. If you don't see the correlation you must have downs.
I don't see the correlation because I think human lives are worth far more than a bunch of data. So you think Spore's piracy was as bad a crime as the Holocaust, right?
