its one man and this entire system of fuckery he constructed that murders thousands upon thousands of people yearly for just wanting agency in their own lives that we all take for granted.

Bashar Al-Assad is not the only leader Syria has ever had, he didn't create the current Syrian regime all alone and he didn't start the civil war all alone. I don't doubt that he's a despicable authoritarian who approved of the killing of peaceful protestors, but to blame him alone for the war in Syria is foolish.
maybe if he didn't order his airforce to start bombing unarmed rallies then maybe parts of his army wouldn't have defected to form the FSA?
this civil war is his own doing with his own fucking stupid brand of leadership.
