The U.S. Vegetarian ones are amazing. You don't even notice the lack of meat, they're so good.
Really? I've always thought they were plenty. Could be I just have a slower metabolism.
It's plenty if you're sitting around all day on the couch or whatever but out in whatever shithole that requires you to eat an MRE you're going to be exhausted and pissed and hungry and it's like MRE's were designed to convert that hunger into extra anger

I've had plenty of UK ORPs, roughly 4000 Kcal in each 24HR pack. They're pretty good and have been getting better with the years. It's a bit of a gamble on what menu you'll get, bu the best has a chocolate brownie, steak and vegatables, beef jerky and a frankfurter sausage, amongst other things. I've had the Italian stuff as well, but the tins are fucking hopeless. Once they're used you have to carry the damn things around. Also, the crap alcohol is the last thing you want for breakfast usually. That and the endless biscotti became a running joke after half a day. You get shitloads of the stuff and it tastes like cardboard.
These food rations are no luxury. Probably can keep you from starving for three days at max.
?! What is this crap? for 72HRs you'd get 3 24HR ORPs.
i ordered two cases about two weeks ago for the hell of it some are delicious, others are aweful i'm scared to try the tuna
MRE Tuna? MRE Tuna meals are literally store-bought starkist tuna in a pouch.
If anyone has any or can get any MRE's that aren't American they'd like to trade or sell, I'm having no luck finding foreign rations online, Ebay has been pretty bunk on that regard. I'll even do a video review of the things, my anus is prepared.
Concerning the russian ration From the mreinfo.com website
Jesus there's like no rating for that. I mean, iasnfdoiusdiof look at that for Christ's sake. I would rather eat a captured snake or racoon rather than that. EDIT: OMG, I can't stop staring at it and the longer I stare the worse it gets.
i ordered two cases about two weeks ago for the hell of it some are delicious, others are aweful i'm scared to try the tuna
It's one of the few that people who hate mre with a passion will actually eat

And the other three look suspiciously like various canned dog foods We've bought for my dog when she was a puppy.

If you get crackers and cheese with you're American MRE for the love of you're colon do not eat the cheese. I'm serious it will stop you up.
If you get crackers and cheese with you're American MRE for the love of you're colon do not eat the cheese. Never had the Cheese n bacon though.

I actually enjoyed the jalapeno cheese, not the plain cheese though, it was weird
Am I the only one who cracked up at the Tooty Frooties in the Norwegian ration?
I acquired an Australian one a few months back (not the one in the picture, slight variations, we actually have like 5 different types). None of it tastes great, but a lot of the snacks aren't absolute shit either.
What is with all you guys and eating these MREs? Don't any of you have functioning kitchens and foodstuffs?
What is with all you guys and eating these MREs? Don't any of you have functioning kitchens and foodstuffs?
You ever tried dragging a kitchen with you out into the middle of the woods?
You ever tried dragging a kitchen with you out into the middle of the woods?
To be fair do you really think most of these nerds are eating MRE's while on overnight hiking trips or out hunting?
I actually enjoyed the jalapeno cheese, not the plain cheese though, it was weird
The normal cheese tasted more like butter, not inedible but not exactly cheese. The jalapeno cheese had this effect countered by the slight heat of the jalapenos.
More likely they're loading up for an all night Gears of War session or something [editline]27th February 2014[/editline] Goddammit zombini
Consuming the milkshakes in MRE's is considered the first symptom to dysentery
Consuming the milkshakes in MRE's is considered the first symptom to dysentery
Not surprised. That shit looks more like Pepto-Bismol than food.
Ours has some surprisingly good stuff
I love our rations. Have good memories of heating up great little meals in the night over a fire with buddies, before being posted on fucking night watch duties. EDF outings were great times. But god forbid you open one of those cans of sprats in a tent. The whole place will reek up and down for a whole day. Tastes great though, so what if I did open up 3 at once...
Definitely true what you say about the sprats. I bought some Latvian sprats from an international food store last week and now my whole fridge smells like that. The cats like 'em, though.
Christ France. We're going to war, not a picnic lunch :v:
