canada :4chan: [editline]22nd March 2011[/editline] where's the happy clapping emote, the fuck
Well, I know :golfclap:. Will that suffice?
:bravo:?
I'm pretty sure thats the one. Or it's that one where it drools.
If he was Atheist would it have made a difference? People do nice things for various reasons
Yeah, but FP would have shit all over him for just being a priest.
Why be happy that something that shaped how we live today is becoming extinct? I don't mean God making people of shit like that I mean hisotry, for example the Crusades, Aztecs, Indians. Without religion the world would never be how it is now.
We could say the same about war. Do you really want war to keep on going?
my religion is nature :allears:
that's the one with faeries right
We could say the same about war. Do you really want war to keep on going?
I really don't understand why people keep comparing religion to war. War is caused by many factors and sometimes religion is a factor but not a big one. The biggest factors of war are land and resources.
Lets just put it simply that illogical beliefs are bad.
Call me a [del]pessimist[/del] realist, but this won't change anything. People are just going to find another justification for hatred and violence. Anyone who thinks otherwise is as naive as they come.
i really should stop going to these threads...

While it wont stop all violence you will admit it will stop a lot and also for religion to be taken away people have to be smart meaning that we will be less excepting of all illogical beliefs meaning even less violence. So if you do take away religion it means people are at the point were they are smart enough to not attack anyone who thinks differently.
Removal of religion won't make anyone smarter or more logical.
It'll remove an institutional barrier to learning, at least.

Admittedly, if I had to choose between war and religion, religion would be the pick, as at least it's tolerable.
There are 2 reason why you are wrong. 1sr yes it will by taking out a major anti science belief and 2nd in order to take out religion you got to get people educated.

It'll remove an institutional barrier to learning, at least.
Yeah, but it wouldn't prevent human stupidity. It will be one less excuse to be stupid, I admit, but it won't be a solution to any problem.

The Australian Christian Lobby still has too much power at the moment.
Nationalist extremists kill people. Religious extremists kill people. People kill people. Its all about belief, "sacred vanity", and I for one. Don't care about either. Why? Because I stopped giving a shit what the world thinks. Somebody religious? Let them be religious. Gay? Let them be gay. You decide what YOU want to do. Not let somebody else decide for you.
my religion is nature :allears:
I knew you were a god damn hippy. [editline]23rd March 2011[/editline] Just kidding I love you pain.
It's amazing how militant anti-religious some of facepunch is. For every person who's trying to present a logical conversation there's another who's saying we should wipe away millions of people for their beliefs.
Once you become atheist or recognize that religion is wrong. As in those are your views. Its laughable at people who think they will still be "alive" once they are dead. It's like santa clause (spelling?) once you know the truth its funny and cute to see the kids still believing. The quicker this horrible idea of life after death and a fantasy man are abolished from the planet the quicker our species can move on and be better. Not trying to troll but it's just a fact. I'm so proud im living in a time where we can openly communicate and can eradicate dated hopes and bullshit. It's time for humanity to grow up and realize your just an animal with intellect. This doesnt make you special it makes you approach life differently. I really wish whoever thought up "god" would of thought of the effects it would have. Yes it's depressing to realize that nothing happens when you die, but it's a fact. Why waste your time believing youll still be "alive" and miss out on things because of it. It's the red pill or th blue pill. Fantasy land made by humans, or reality made by the universe. I choose reality. And hopefully more will follow. P.s. WHY IS CRYSIS ON DX9?! Bastards :(
I'm happy knowing that nothing happens after death, it means that I have to make the most of the life I have. Otherwise I agree with you.
how about we all just agree to disagree and go back to talking about stuff that's actually interesting
Then don't enter the thread if religion doesn't interest you. I, for one, honestly couldn't give a shit if you find it boring.
Why be happy that something that shaped how we live today is becoming extinct? Without religion, all of these cultures might still have been around. Thanks for shit, religion. Religion instills a superiority complex in the european caucasian race that's caused so many shitstorms and so much damage just because "god says so" and they just went in leaving their heads at the door. It's fucking retarded and we can thank religions for that. We can thank religion for homophobia being "allrighty" we can thank religion for the whole shitstorm in the east. we can thank religion for almost every war throughout history. we can thank religion for ignorant republicans calling the healthcare bill ( a Christian fucking concept) communist and satanic. Religion can go fuck itself on the moon. It only leaves retardation in its wake. Morals... We can thank HUMAN NATURE for that. Just as we can thank it for deceit, murder and religion.
