I'm pretty sure Buddhism is a way of life and not any form of diety worshipping if im wrong flood me with dumbs plz
some say Buddha was divine but most just stick with the whole be content thing
I really don't see why this is something to celebrate for atheists. Ya, sure, there will be more atheists, but can you really say that will make a difference? Religion will always exist virtually everywhere until the end of man.
Pitbull, suck my Quetzoquatlus
WHAT THE FUCK, :10bux: i award you 10 internets oh ya and are you atheist or religious?
Until religion officially dies out in the US, I'm gonna have to sit this one out.
Pascals Wager doesn't work, go read about it, god knows you are genuine and punishes you anyway, either way as I've previously said, I don't give a fuck.
Pascal is a retard on the subject. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZpJ7yUPwdU[/hd] I'm saying the wager was flawed to begin with - there is no winning outcome if you bet on religion. Rather than that, we should focus on what is "knowable" and at least do something productive than "dull our intellects."
Buddhism i can say is the worst belief system ever it teaches you to be content with what you have NOT work hard and gain wealth so you have a shitty life? deal with it bitch boy
I think its practitioners can decide for themselves just how 'shitty' their lives are; afaik they're not complaining-- you are.
I'm pretty sure Buddhism is a way of life and not any form of diety worshipping if im wrong flood me with dumbs plz
It's still held for one of the major religions in the world. Regarding the way of life; it holds beliefs as well, making it a religion as well as a philosophy.
You just perfectly described Atheism. Congrats.
Ad hominem, ma pa and nan, I want you meet my very good friend, Me and him walk together ev-ry-day, My bestest foreverest goodest friend, Ad Ho-mo-neeem
better remembering a plague then having one
One problem: religion isn't a plague or a great destroyer of worlds. It is just a different life philosophy and until militant atheists and theists get over that we are just as barbaric as cavemen.
WHAT THE FUCK, :10bux: i award you 10 internets oh ya and are you atheist or religious?
Offshoot of atheism, apatheism, I just don't care anymore, but if you try and pull out bullshit arguments I swiftly become anti theist.
One problem: religion isn't a plague or a great destroyer of worlds. It's fucking annoying
Offshoot of atheism, apatheism, I just don't care anymore, but if you try and pull out bullshit arguments I swiftly become anti theist.
good to have you on our side-ish i dont wanna fuck with that thing

I know more than a few people who have willingly accepted to follow the path of the Buddha and it definitely didn't ruin their life, nor did it have an impact on mine. You're a good example of someone accusing religion of brainwashing people, when the one being brainwashed by the media is, in fact, you.
It's not like we are attacking you for it, diety worshipping for us is like watching somebody tell you they have an imaginary friend. It's fucking annoying
That's pretty hypocritical. I can say a number of reasons as to why I find atheists annoying, but do I want to work for or even see an absolute end to atheism? No. Just fucking live and let live and mind your own business. And YES, there are religious people who have the problem of not minding their own business, but if you reciprocate them you only continue the vicious cycle.

Finally!
must buy from walmart, have no control
Now you're just being childish. If you can't come up with a proper argument, then simply don't bother.
good to have you on our side-ish i dont wanna fuck with that thing
Piss off with the whole "our side" thing, reduce it to something that fucking childish if you like but the fact of the matter is this is all about peoples choices, albeit wretchedly stupid in almost every case either way.
Now you're just being childish. If you can't come up with a proper argument, then simply don't bother.
hense my edit
hense my edit
Hence why I tried to drag Buddhism into this mess. I'm not going to deny you see a lot of religious crap on TV and whatnot, but I've rarely heard of a Buddhist forcing his/her beliefs on someone or of any extremist Buddhist for that matter (not saying there aren't any Buddhist extremists). Only extremists and fanatics force their opinion down your throat, but that goes for any possible beliefs anyone may have and is not restricted to religion.

Why does religion offend some of you so much? If it helps people rest easy, then what's the big deal? Let them have their complicated explanations for their fear of death.
i will agree with that but there are teachers out there like my old Social Studies teacher (i read my last two posts and that was a very large self parody and it came off hateful to me, excuse me)
Apologies gladly accepted, and I'm sorry to hear about things like your Social Studies teacher. On a side note, I'd like to quote this guy, because I believe he makes a very strong point regarding Buddhism (and religion in general):
People (mostly non-Buddhists) have argued for centuries about this question. Buddhists themselves tend to find it beside the point. It comes down to how one wants to define “religion”, doesn’t it? “Religion” is a very charged word. It has acquired a strongly negative set of associations that have little to do with its formal definition, and so there’s a scramble among “spiritual” practitioners to distance themselves from the label. Many Christians, for example, who go to church regularly, vehemently deny that they belong to a religion. To them, “religion” means something more rigidly institutional, like the Catholic church. But one commonly accepted definition of “religion” used by academics is based on the “4 C’s”: creed (a set of beliefs), code (a prescription for conduct), cultus (a set of practices), and community (significantly, God doesn’t explicitly enter into this definition, because theism falls under the category of creed). A given religion may be heavy on some of these and light on others, but will have all in some form. Buddhism, for instance, is very light on creed (beliefs), but they’re not entirely absent. One simply isn’t supposed to take them at face value, without verifying them empirically (at which point they’re no longer beliefs, strictly speaking, but experience). Buddhism’s code of conduct is the precepts. Its cult (practices) are also loosely defined, but include at a minimum the mindfulness and concentration elements of the Eightfold Path. Buddhism’s community is the sangha which in its broadest sense, is the community of all beings, but is often used to refer just to Buddhist practitioners.

...And that matter came from? See where I am going with this?
Just because we don't have an immediate conclusion to a question doesn't mean that (G)od is the answer. We're still studying what the Universe has to offer.
well good.
And thus, the world was changed for the better. I'm interested in seeing if this will cause these nations to being progressing faster than those "weighed down" by religious beliefs.
And thus, the world was changed for the better. I suspect that, though they claim to be religiously unaffiliated, they still have religiously impacted morals and therefore are going to still cause issues. You can be an atheist and dislike homosexuals(See Ayn Rand), for example.
i actually think it's a little sad if religion becomes extinct in these nine nations it should be remembered as an interesting historical thing, because the churches, songs, and paintings made from religious intents are quite beautiful
