She was born in Thailand so I don't know if she could actually run for President, unless she falls under a Ted Cruz type of situation then perhaps she could. Her father was American so maybe she could.
The Natural Born Citizen rule is a bit of a grey area because nobody has every had the chance to test it. Probably never will, with the way american politics tends to work.

You get a 'Consular Report of Birth Abroad' which looks like this: The letter they come with specifically states that although it's NOT a Birth Certificate, for all purposes it's basically the same thing and makes the owner a Citizen by Birth (Even says so in the header). Assuming there has been no change in her citizenship status since birth, yes she qualifies for US Presidency, it's literally the only way she can get a passport, Social Security Card or anything else anyway. I'm actually quite jealous the new ones look pretty fucking high speed. It's kind of annoying because instead of going through your county you have to pester the state department and do a bunch of paperwork if you want duplicates or a replacement.

Imo the grey area probably comes from a lot of people who are biased towards not having a foreign born person be president.

Both John McCain and Ted Cruz were born abroad and only have a Consular Report of Birth Abroad. In 2008 all you heard was people talking shit about Obama not being born in the US (he was), yet his opposition Senator McCain wasn't actually born in the US (Panama) and no one said shit.

I have complete US citizenship with SSN and all. But yeah - really can't lose that thing because it's a real pain in the ass to replace. Confused the fuck out of the rural DMV worker when they needed original identification for my license, though.
