Gonna wait for Alien Isolation to hit a daily sail and pick it up.
I recommend Anno 2070. Combat is terrible in it but as a citybuilder it is great. Very relaxing if you play it like that. Deep ocean makes it a bit longer too. Only issue is Ubi clearly took a lot of servers away from it a year or so ago so it's incredibly slow to move stuff to the Ark.
I've played and beat Fallout 3, but haven't played or beaten New Vegas.
Should I buy it? Also does it work with workshop? Or do I have to use Nexus' download manager for mods?

Buy it def. New Vegas is way better than fallout 3
I've spent $50 on the sale already and it's not even over. I am going to live off beans for the next couple weeks, but it was worth it.

Yes. Yes. Yes. If I could forget about it just to play it all over again, I would. I personally preferred it to 3, others didn't. I played 1 & 2 back in the 90's and felt NV was more authentic and comparable to the originals (More dark humor, funny characters, real threat and more choices that matter)
My only criticism is that the DLC suffer the same way they did in 3. They're either really really good, or just kinda OK.

And remember, you're gonna play the games you bought for 2 hours then forget about them forever.
The Witcher 2 is $2.99 and I can't add it to my cart
Mount your Friends is the best $3 i've ever spent.
binding of Issac is only £0.39
I need to clear this up, is this the Steam Winter Sale? Or is that coming later?
I need to clear this up, is this the Steam Winter Sale? Or is that coming later?
Well, seeing how this is a fall sale, no.
I need to clear this up, is this the Steam Winter Sale? Or is that coming later?
Yeah, the Winter Sale is still coming late December.
Buy it def. New Vegas is way better than fallout 3
I dislike both, you have to REALLY like RPGs to put up with bethesda's bullshit.

I mostly enjoy the dialogues and writing, also the sense of exploration is great. The mechanics are serviceable though.
Tbh.. This sale has been rather shit. There's not a whole lot that's really worth it.
The only thing I've bought is The Banner Saga and the Peggle bundle. Because Peggle is awesome.
Waiting for FRACT OSC, This War of Mine, and Door Kickers.

Dialogue and writing is great, terrible voice acting ruins it. Sense of exploration is great until you start realizing a lot of areas feel very copy and pasty, and honestly a lot of places don't ever feel worth how long it took to walk there sometimes.
And as a game itself, it just plays terrible. Movement has no sense of weight, guns don't really feel like guns but more like they were modded into a game that was never meant to have them. Mechanics seem broken and exploitable. A.I is terrible, especially friendly A.I which can be extremely frustrating.
You have to like what makes an RPG an RPG, great ideas, stories, and atmosphere, and ignore that they forgot to make a good game to back it up.
I just dub it as "Bethesda bullshit". It seems to be in every Bethesda developed RPG game since oblivion. And yes, New Vegas counts as an extension to this. New Vegas just feels like a total conversion mod of Fallout 3, just with much better writing.

I think you might just not like the genre or Bethesda games in general, admittedly it's a strange mix between rpg elements and first person shooter designed in an awful engine. It's very playable in my opinion but just doesn't have the finesse of a good first person shooter. Movement feels okay to, the shooting is pretty awful but vats resolves that quite nicely.
What makes an RPG great? That is pretty debatable to be honest and everyone likes some different aspect. I still think that the voice acting is acceptable, tons of areas to explore with unique quests. Sure a lot of assets are reused but it's still all pretty atmospheric and immersive. The game world is pretty vast and exploits and such are pretty common. This is not an excuse and I think your points are valid. But to play such games you have to get into it and roleplay it a bit, get in the mood and feel immersed. The atmosphere and setting gives me enough reason to like this game.

I like RPGs.
I don't like Bethesda games for all the reasons I listed. They have good writers but terrible game designers.
My standards are too high I suppose, everything is too clunky and shoddy to "get into the mood." and "feel immersed."
I am just providing an opposite opinion for potential buyers. I was fooled 3 times into buying these games by overwhelming hype and positive opinions and I felt dumb. You just either like them or you don't, so be wary before buying.

I wouldn't even say that Bethesda is that great at writing, their plots are pretty stupid at times and have horrible narrative. I think Bethesda excells at creating great fantasy worlds rich in detail and lore but they then fuck up royally when it comes to gameplay.
Guess all I wanted to say is that Fallou New Vegas is totally worth it if you can get past the obvious flaws and somewhat clunky gameplay.

I hope you guys are right.
Are they going to repeat all the deals they had on december 3rd? I know they do it on the last day of the summer sale but I wasn't sure if they do it for any other sales.

Ahh how I love steam sales.

No idea, best advice it to pick it up when it's in a daily sale.

There'll be a Christmas sale in a few weeks, this is just the "autumn" sale that happens every winter. I like to think of it as the sucker's sale, you'll get better deals if you just wait a few weeks.
