White flight as a concept doesn't exist and it is only used so that people can point a finger instead of thinking about the fact that the economic structure of the USA changed at the time it happened. It went from manufacturing to office based and service sector work and there wasn't a need to be immediately in the city, along with rising prices because of what was seen as a lot of people moving in, which led to people moving out because their prices got fucking jacked up, then them leaving caused the prices to go down and etc etc. Can't blame white flight, you have to blame automation of industry and the personal computer.

It's completely fucking different than slavery or red lining which is forced upon a person. "White Flight" existed because when ten million people suddenly move from the south to the cities of the north and are forced to be bussed to different areas as a result of getting statistical numbers, it mucks shit up. There wasn't the infrastructure in place and the hurried construction and such drove prices down because of the now surplus amount of houses, which lead to poor income people moving into them.
