• Samsung Galaxy SIII now with a smaller display.

This is excellent news and I may finally be closer to justifying an upgrade from my S1 - my thumbs are pretty small and I struggle to use my 4" S1 as it is. I can barely grip the current S3 in one hand, let alone use it.
I think I might get this phone. I've been looking for a relatively small phone to replace my HTC Legend. The HTC One V doesn't cut it. The problem I had with the screen on S3 is that it arranges the pixels in a similar way to the S1 and i8000, I hope they fix this with the smaller S3 .
I have the Galaxy Note and my pants are tight as fuck. [editline]11th October 2012[/editline] Thing is, the Galaxy S III is only a tiny bit bigger than the iPhone 5 because of the obscene amounts of black bezel around the screen. Also I have my Galaxy Nexus placed next to a iPhone 4S right now and it's barely any bigger horizontally, the width is just a bit bigger.
Yeah, the Note doesn't fit in my pockets either. I can usually just slip it in a jacket pocket or something so I really don't mind. Bigger is better and all that stuff.
Hey, it's the size of the iPhone 5 now.
Finally able to make fair spec comparisons.
Hey, it's the size of the iPhone 5 now.
The Galaxy S III with the 4.8 inch screen is barely any bigger than the iPhone 5. This is going to be smaller.

[editline]11th October 2012[/editline] Found them, actually. Was very happy when I saw the thread title, but its not really an S3 if it has worse specs? The screens on the S3 and One X are too big, Apple made a smart move not following this absurd trend.
i find 4" way to small, after using my Galaxy S1 for over a year, the 4" screen is tiny im comparision to the S3. Hopefully im going to be getting a Galaxy Note 2 at the end of this year though. With the specs, why call it an S3 mini, its absolute rubbish
If its an entry level phone that is totally different to the S3 except maybe for the looks. Why not just name it something else? Samsung Galaxy S[SUB]mall [/SUB]Also, I love the big screen on my S3. I type with both hands and it very comfortable to type with.
Again, the S3 is a little bit larger than the iPhone 5 so I don't get all the "it's too big for me" complaints. It isn't that the physical phone is large, but rather the screen size makes it hard to handle with one hand. Typed with iPhone, with one hand.
It isn't that the physical phone is large, but rather the screen size makes it hard to handle with one hand
Yep.
I have massive hands and I find the S3 hard to use. This would be better, but it has significantly worse specs.
I have massive hands and I find the S3 hard to use. The S2 LTE I have is way too big for me. I'd love something a bit smaller.
New article with detailed specs. http://m.cnet.com/reviews/samsung-galaxy-s3-mini-unlocked/35484855 If Apple did the same thing, this thread would get shitloads more boxes and funnys.
Dont tell me another patent lawsuit will ensue between Apple and Samsung because of this... "Durr we have 4" furst"
When I first saw my friend using the S3 I went, "Holy shit! The screen on that is huge!" Good to know that they're making that giant-ass screen smaller.
I have huge hands, I am going to get the galaxy note 2 2gb of ram AND a quad-core processor on a 5.55" 720p AMOLED screen http://www.itproportal.com/2012/09/13/iphone-5-vs-samsung-galaxy-note-2-spec-comparison/ lol the comparison photos
