Scientists ID the little bastard molecule responsible for causing feelings of stress, anxiety and de

It's good to know that people are finding new research into this field of medicine. Just to think that we only had a way of testing how drugs work on us 50 years ago, and we just discovered epigenetics 30 years ago, it's pretty true to say that we don't know a lot about the subject, even with our current collection of knowledge.
I was actually thinking of donating to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, because of this, and because A LOT of people are suffering from these illnesses all around the world.

Zoloft can make you go sterile, and/or kill yourself, i'd stick to good ole xanax.

Everyone reacts to medicine differently. If anything, people who have an uncommon reaction will have a harder time finding medicine, because there is less money for making the medicine, so there is less medicine available.
There is NO such thing as a "magic pill", as every medication has it's ups and downs, and it can help and hinder, and this is different for every person. Seeing that pharmaceutical companies spend a billion dollars (literally) to develop a new medication, there is always more people who can't get effective medication as it is, and more people need help.

Xanax and all other benzodiazepines have the wonderful side effect of fucking killing you if you have a big enough tolerance and happen to run out of Xanax. They cause Grand Mal Seizures if enough dependence is built up.
I was taking Clonazepam (analogue of Xanax, which is Alprazolam) for a few months, using it to treat my anxiety, but I ran out and ended up going through withdrawals for a month (I didn't realize I was addicted to them, because I didn't take them daily). It makes you feel like your brain just snapped and you're slowly dying and going crazy at the same time. It's genuinely the worst thing I have ever gone through. I'm lucky I didn't take it long enough to get serious seizure activity.
Fuck that shit, I'd rather have anxiety.

Quitting Clonazepam cold turkey is one of the dumbest things you could do. You're lucky you didn't slip into psychosis. You need to taper.

I know, I was somewhat naive on the subject at the time. I only took it every few days, rarely did I ever bother taking it more than two days in a row. I honestly did not know you could gain a dependence to it with such an erratic dose schedule.
But needless to say, when I ran out of it, I figured that much out rather quickly.
Now I avoid the things like the plague for the simple fact that if I took them regularly, getting more could be a life or death thing, and that scares the living shit out of me. Way more than my anxiety does.

Block every site that's not related to whatever important thing you're doing. You'll suddenly realize how much damn time you have and are wasting away.
Interesting...but if there's a will, there's a way.
I'll end up finding a way to kill time a different way without even trying.
Excellent, now that I have a name I can hire a hitman
The reality of cheap and effective anti depressants is one that needs to be approached carefully.
Taking drugs to reduce chemical depression takes one dangerously close to simply accepting complacency. The neurological effects of depression are there for a reason, and if one doesn't feel sad or anxious, they may not try to rectify whatever situation they are in. Makes a dangerous possibility as anti-depressants may wind up inhibiting social reform.

if you see a chicken wallowing in its fecies and crying its face off slamming its head into a rock, would you want to eat it?
After all of these years of PTSD making my life miserable. I'm going to fuck my PTSD. If my PTSD were a person, I would now get ready to bend it over and fuck it until its blood is on my cock and pink body matter forever pulled out of its asshole from the friction of me causing anal damage to it. When you have PTSD, even if it manifests itself in unusual ways, will not let you live your life and enjoy it. There is nowhere where you can escape and I'm ready to take revenge on it.
It's called Xanax.
Too bad Xanax is banned in my country

I for one find that sadness tenderizes the meat and prepares it for eating. You can almost taste the travesty of your actions
Ok. Let me rephrase it. Gimme the pill that gets rid of it :v:
It's already been invented.

On a more serious note, this is a huge ass step for anyone with depression. One of the biggest problems with finding the cure for depression was that we didn't even know where it came from or what caused it.

Depression and "a little sadness" are as comparable as a severed arm and a papercut

Not to mention people with problems that make them produce too much/not enough of a certain chemical to the point where its impractical.
