Did you go to hotels in Amsterdam? And eat at them?
Yep.
Are big cities populated exclusively by rich people? How can anyone afford this?
I went to Geneva last year. A can of coke from a vending machine was 2.50 francs (£1.69)
who the hell uses hotel prices for comparison lmao a cup of coffee in Singapore costs like US$0.90, you can get a meal with drink for US$4 or less if you're not a posh hipster who only dines at restaurants.
Hotel prices are always retarded. Even the shittiest hotel here has jacked their prices up to $300 a night for the 4th of July weekend
That's unfortunate; the guys at rooster teeth took a trip to sweden once and didn't know the exchange rate, so their basis for how much something cost was a sandwich they bought at the airport. Everything was "How many sandwiches is this worth?"
The only thing good about hotels are when they have really good buffet spreads. Otherwise, I'll just stick to local food.
I just...cant stand anyone who eats at a Hotel...except if the Hotel has a restaurant apart that serves REALLY WELL MADE dishes. For example, most 5 stars hotel here in Argentina, at their bar/cafe will charge you a can of Coke...30 pesos. While, the Coke bottle, in any kiosk...costs you...15 pesos.... Don't get me started with the food prices...Hell, I've seen a common milanesa go for 180 pesos while in a top restaurant in BA it goes for 90 pesos....
