I dunno man, human flight used to be impossible.
yeah but we needed oil to achieve that we needed oil to build that let alone fuel it
I dunno man, human flight used to be impossible.
What are we going to do? Fully synthesize hydrocarbons that we use for plastics? It's possible but unlikely to ever be practical. We have to stop burning oil, it's the biggest waste of an amazing resource. For the environment and climate, and to save our source of hydrocarbons that we use for far more important things than fuel.
Damn you cartels and your cooperative ways! Or those people that buy oil at a cheap price and sell it high or whateverhowitgoesforgot.
$0 right now as I'm an unemployed University Student. In like 10 years I'll make something like 300K p. anum.
$0 here too, except I'm out of College looking for work, plus I don't quallify for unemployment as my last job was suppose to be seen as finical aid. (Work Study)
Oh no; what ever shall us privileged white Americans do when gas reaches the prices it's been at in the rest of the world for several years.
I know the UK and Europe in general pay more for petrol but at the same time they have higher standards of living and minimum wage compared to the US. Average minimum wage in the U.S is $7.25 an hour if you convert that that is less then £5 an hour. The average minimum wage (for an adult put in mind) is £5.93 which converts to more then $9 an hour. I'm not going to bother doing EU conversions because it is so wide spread and depends on each state. You can't really blame gas companies for the price hike in the UK though. The government keeps taxing the shit out of it along with everything else. I know it fucking sucks but you can't tell others to complain they're still going to be paying high prices at least from their overall perspective, 5 dollars isn't the norm for them. It is all about prospective tbh, UK is getting terrible prices but the U.S is slowly going to go though what the UK has been going though for years which sucks tbh because UK and U.S don't deserve it.
stop making excuses for why you're a cheap bastard
Why spend money if you don't have too? Just because someone makes money doesn't mean they have to spend it because they inflate the fucking price so high and get away with it because we all need fuel to get to work and back. It's about being a smart shopper The whole situation blows, for both nations. There is no point in arguing, both nations are getting ass fucked by the gas companies. UK is being hammered by both the government and companies though.
We should (and could) all have electric cars by now.
it takes oil to generate serious electricity it also takes oil to build those cars, and to fully replace every vehicle with an internal combustion engine would be catastrophic and cause a huge debt / take generations to achieve
get a fucking decent rail network up and running
If we dont start changing from fuel to something else... The world is fucked.
Oh no; what ever shall us privileged white Americans do when gas reaches the prices it's been at in the rest of the world for several years.
Yeah, lets see you talk when it's 20 euros for you
If we dont start changing from fuel to something else... The world is fucked.
Somehow I don't think we'll ever break our dependence on fuel.
Somehow I don't think we'll ever break our dependence on fuel.
higher gas prices might promote the production of more fuel efficient vehicles like hybrid cars
higher gas prices might promote the production of more fuel efficient vehicles
it might also cause a global riot and tear down the fabric of government for multiple nations
it might also cause a global riot and tear down the fabric of government for multiple nations
uhh, what?
We deal with 19% VAT on EVERYTHING here even our wages. Minimum wages are worse than american wages. Minimum wage is €6,88 an hour if you are 23 and work 40 hours a week. On top of that we pay for gas bills, electricity, water, doctor visits that aren't covered by insurance, the insurance itself. Never heard of food being free. Car insurance, road tax, emission tax and our gas prices are 5 times higher then in america. Consider yourself lucky.
Food and the like is still 6% btw.
higher gas prices might promote the production of more fuel efficient vehicles like hybrid cars
My point was the fuel is a generic term for a power source.
it takes oil to generate serious electricity
Nuclear
it also takes oil to build those cars
So let's stop burning it
Maybe the price hike will finally get the private sector to develop alternative fuel automobiles, full force. Get the "green" movement out of the prototype phase and into the mainstream.
uhh, what?
The Great Fuel Famine of the mid-21st century.
Oh no; what ever shall us privileged white Americans do when gas reaches the prices it's been at in the rest of the world for several years.
Take oil from others to keep it cheap.
Maybe the price hike will finally get the private sector to develop alternative fuel automobiles, full force. Get the "green" movement out of the prototype phase and into the mainstream.
the only question is, will the world be able to make the 'green movement' efficient enough to sustain a stable world economy? more importantly, would they finish before the deadline?
Third question, What's this green movement about again?
Third question, What's this green movement about again?
theyre kind of like the blue man group
Third question, What's this green movement about again?
Fourth Question, Do you ever shut up?
We have to pay for Our doctor visits (check ups and such)
That is because your politicians are retarded
Third question, What's this green movement about again?
what green movement there's one about um, elections, and um, energy shit and like um, cars and shit so um which one
*sigh* And here folks, is why we should switch to nuclear.
*sigh* And here folks, is why we should switch to nuclear.
BECAUSE NUCLEAR POWER DOESN'T HAVE ANY CONS EITHER THAT WE HAVE NOT YET FULLY WORKED OUT Right do i have it right
BECAUSE NUCLEAR POWER DOESN'T HAVE ANY CONS EITHER THAT WE HAVE NOT YET FULLY WORKED OUT Right do i have it right
My point exactly, our stupid-ass anti-nuclear attitude has been slowing the advancement in nuclear technologies. Ever heard of a betavoltaic battery? And you do know that we can use other isotopes besides uranium, like hydrogen, right?
My point exactly, our stupid-ass anti-nuclear attitude has been preventing the advancement in nuclear technologies. Ever heard of a betavoltaic battery?
i'm just saying, it's not like we just have to say YES TO NUCLEAR and suddenly everything is shitting pure clean energy nuclear power still has a tremendous impact on the environment and other sources of power are not even fully realized yet
