You were talking about libertarianism in general. And now you're avoiding it when I called you out on the statements.
Rand Paul is pretty much your neo-libertarian archetype so it's all valid.
(I say neo-libertarian since no real libertarian would oppose abortion and gay marriage)
Quick, join the fad and put quick infront of everything

To be fair, it's a fairly popular thing to see medicare as some kind of spawn of satanic socialism or something. And on the last quote, I don't understand what you're against. the part where he says happiness isn't a right?
Yep, when it's dark or the sun is setting or rising
Thanks i "never" knew that!

The part where he says healthcare makes everyone else your slave
The part where he says healthcare makes everyone else your slave
Yea. He doesn't seem too quick with his linguistic skills
he opposes ALL abortion, opposes gay marriage
Yeah, I'm not keen on that either.
wants to change the 14th amendment to deny children of illegal immigrants birthright citizenship
If the parents aren't legal, children shouldn't either. You know, those children are why illegal immigrants are granted welfare. Thank you No Child Left Behind.
wants to add security to the border by "installing an underground electric fence and helicopter stations"
It's called "protecting your borders". It's quite obvious the politicians don't want to deport current illegals... so, how about we find ways to keep them from coming in. I'm all for ANYTHING to keep them out.
There is a reason they're called "illegal" immigrants.
Yeah, I'm not keen on that either.
Well okay then.

How do you propose that people immigrate to the US then? Because as it stands now it can take anywhere from 15 to 30 years to get citizenship, and that's if you're educated.
If the parents aren't legal, children shouldn't either. You know, those children are why illegal immigrants are granted welfare. Thank you No Child Left Behind.
why should the children be punished?
so you want to change the 14th amendment?

Our method of allowing citizenship definitely needs an overhaul, but at the same time we can't make it a cakewalk for people to get in. It's a thin line to walk and there's not a way to make everyone happy. But at the same time we have to secure our borders, because there is a massive problem with illegal immigration, which shows just how ironic our national defense is, when we stop citizens at airports for hours while keeping our buttflap open for anyone limber enough to jump a fence to get a free ticket.
why should the children be punished?

You're right. Lets deport their parents and put all the children in orphanages. :buddy:

You act as if that's a horrible thing.

You know, I haven't seen a good argument for opposing either yet, can you come up with one?
The vast majority of US citizens gained their citizenship from that at some point in their family history. Also, If you are born and raised in a country, don't you think you should be a citizen of that country? how would you feel if you were deported from the only home you ever knew because your parents didn't have a green card when they had you twenty years ago?
This one is too broad to attack, say something more specific.
why should the children be punished?

So, you're saying I have to sacrifice greater and greater parts of my paycheck to support these kids? The problem with government spending LEGAL citizens' paychecks is that eventually they'll run out of other peoples' money to spend. Baby boomers are retiring and our paychecks are being stretched already trying to keep them from breaking social security.
Forgive the stereotype here, but it is very true. Many mexican families have many children. Law states a family gets $600 (I believe) PER CHILD. Where's that money going to come from?
As I said in another thread, you need to approach this logically... not emotionally. That's the only solution to the matter.
You act as if that's a horrible thing.
Yeah, shut your borders.
You guys will just find something else to blame your tanking economy on once all the labour jobs are unfilled.
Yeah, shut your borders.

I said "shut them completely" where...?
Oh, I didn't.

It's controversial, but look at it this way, lets say someone leaves their window open in their house, and you sneak in and squat for a few months, stealing food but keeping yourself hidden. When you're caught, should you be kicked out? You're homeless, so yes the world outside the house is worse off, but are you entitled to stay?
It's not an easy problem to fix, but just because someone made it and managed to not get caught for years shouldn't net them a free pass. Children are a different story. There's too many factors to consider to make a concrete one time decision on that.

No, thats the Tea party, which started off as Libertarians but got hijacked by racist retarded assholes. Please do not associate the two.

Do you have any idea how incredibly small a portion that is? And $600 is nothing, they still have to get jobs, and their paychecks are taxed. Your argument makes no sense.
I said "shut them completely" where...?

Not allowing people to immigrate is exactly the same.
Stop being daft.
Rand Paul has said HIMSELF that he's fine if a business wants to refuse service to a minority

What? America... getting better? Wait?
Doesn't fucking matter. Just because you're in europe and you had to unionize 13 fucking countries to get an economy that can surpass america.. doesn't mean you have to pass these types of comments.
WE ARE THE LAND OF FREE, DONT YOU EVER FORGET.

I'm just saying that if the KKK were running a diner would you even want to go eat there?
I think everyone should have equal rights under the law. But I also believe that if you buy a piece of property and use your own money to set up a business there, you can decide who want to sell to. I mean it's their business, if they want to take a financial hit by not selling to Blacks/Asians/Mexicans, they can go ahead and do that.
