Because it simply isn't a liberty, when I was in 3rd grade and I invited two of my friends from class to a sleepover I didn't have to extend invitations to everyone.
It's the same principle here.
In fact the opposite is true, the ability to choose who you allow in your private residence or business is the liberty.
That's a terrible analogy
Equality is though
Private businesses do not have to follow the right of equality.
It's bad for the business in the long run though.

Serving everyone equally is bad for business? What
Because you invited the people you liked, you didn't say "open to all" then uninvite people based solely on your biased opinions about their person.
"she has red hair, she can't come to my birthday" etc.
oh shit i misread

What if I invited all the boys and simply said no girls allowed they have cooties.
It's ignorant but nothing should stop me from doing so.

Yes they do, if you allow businesses to just be assholes and not allow blacks then where the fuck did we get in the way of civil rights?
What if I invited all the boys and simply said no girls allowed they have cooties.

I suppose that's a slightly better analogy
[editline]2nd November 2010[/editline]
That really sounds like a choice your parents would make for you though.

If you relate this to real life, what if a member of an undesirable group enters your store and you tell them to leave, how do they feel?
How the hell would you feel if that happened to you?
You shouldn't discriminate based on the color of skin or whatnot, because you really have no reason to do so.
The point of having businesses open to all is so no one is discriminated against racially/sexually etc., No only is that is unfair, you are basically giving up customers for no logical reason.
you are basically giving up customers for no logical reason.
Which is why no regulation is necessary.
And beyond that if a private business wants to discriminate it is their right to do so. The government should not be able to tell them that if they serve one they must serve all. It's the right thing to do but its not the place for government to step in.
Which is why no regulation is necessary.

Government is specifically there to defend the rights of the people, fair treatment as well...so

I explained this before, underprivileged blacks are not represented by the market as strong as middle class whites are so there needs to be some kind of oversight to make sure that discrimination isn't disadvantaging them more than society already has.
So basically you're giving up customers for an illogical reason and you're okay with the government not doing anything?
Soon you'll see: "Bus boy needed niggers need not apply."
Oh it's just like pre-civil war.
Also, why is it your right to discriminate?
Does any document say anything about you having a right to discriminate?
Also I'm pretty sure it's not covered by free speech, as it's technically hate speech.

In a free market there would be no need for government regulation to fix this issue it would come naturally.
BRB Sweden
Not if the Sweden Democrats have any say in the matter.
In a free market there would be no need for government regulation to fix this issue it would come naturally.
This isn't a free market.
Anti-trust laws are a good example of this.
Government is specifically there to defend the rights of the people, fair treatment as well...so
As stated before fair treatment in private business is not a right.

I know this.
We have had very few eras of even close to a free market in this country, especially since Roosevelt left office.
I'm a laissez-faire capitalist which I know will stir some of you up but we need not go down another road in debate right now.
As stated before fair treatment in private business is not a right.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 would seem to disagree.
Fun Fact: The act contains a provision excluding members of the Communist Party from its protections.
I love how people think democrats are so high and mighty. I mean, after all, it does appear that the country has spoken. Working class citizens who aren't teenagers, like myself, have spoken out in an outcry against the outrageous spending of the government.
Thank you, Rand Paul, for showing us what our future has in store for us. This is a historical moment.
Capitalism does not work.
It's as simple as that, and the more leverage you try to give it, the worse it becomes
At night it's black.

See if we let them in.
We can HUG them.
FOREVER AND THEY WILL BE VERY PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS..
Too bad drug dealers and people who like to live off the government come along with the productive citizens.
I'm a laissez-faire capitalist
It doesn't work at all.
In a free market there would be no need for government regulation to fix this issue it would come naturally.
In a free market where everyone was the same race, creed, religion, and political affiliation, yeah. But unfortunately it doesn't work that way.

Democratic socialism, like what all the countries with the highest standard of living in the world use.

What does population matter? All statistics are presented per capita.

wait no
Tell that to this woman
The great depression was not the creation of private enterprise but the failure of federal monetary policy and the ineffectiveness of the federal reserve.
Japan

Japan's society is shit so I wouldn't use them as an example for anything
except maybe how to achieve a world-record-breaking suicide rate due to shittiness
