things are better than they were
to my knowledge they haven't had a successful bomb attack in years
granted some of that is down to the security forces but the IRA has deffo toned down and the violent terrorists have been marginalised.

are you saying that negotiation hasn't worked with the IRA or what
i've no idea what your point is but you seem to be content to ignore the actual reasons i gave you for corbyn not making a blunt statement because a journo asked him to

You're saying that Corbyn shouldn't condemn the IRA for risk of them attack us again. I'm saying that they still are attacking us so your argument is moot.
Otherwise, Corbyn is sacrificing popular opinion to keep a terrorist group pacified (and failing). Good idea...
And don't be so simple as to act like Northern Ireland can exist only in two states: terrorised or at peace. Of course things are better - but you are naive if you think that everything is fine over there.

please provide some examples of the IRA attacking us in the modern day, compared with attacks during the troubles before there was negotiation and peace talks
thanks

Do you not understand how negotiation works?
I'm sure the various other political figures that had dealings with the IRA didn't storm into their secret (as in: undisclosed to the public, to the point that many of them outright lied to cover it up) meetings and open with "right, ur all a bunch of bastards cut ur shit out!".

while I appreciate that the list is very long, more people died in a single bombing during the troubles than have died in the last 7 years according to your list, and many of the those deaths are gang-fighting
i wouldn't be surprised if 1972 has more deaths than all attacks since the peace talks
it's really night and day

It doesn't negate my point that the IRA is still active, though.

No, but it does suggest that after negotiation and communication in the place of force and condemnation, the number of civilians being needlessly murdered has dropped enormously
And as you yourself pointed out, that peace is seemingly fragile so corbyn being incendary for absolutely no gain is a terrible idea

So, you genuinely don't think one or more people should be called out if they are doing something bad?

when that calling out possibly ends up with people dead with basically no gain? no
How in the name of everloving fuck did they work that out? Somebody sound the bullshit alarm.
