Nvidia releases ShadowPlay - Records Video While You Play At no FPS Loss

Upgrading my graphics cards near Christmas.
NVidia 2stronk, bye AMD.
i'd like to see some footage recorded from it, preferably with minimal editing
Did a quick play through of Left 4 Dead 2. When I was recording I didn't feel any slowdown and the file quality was superb. No edits done.
Might look a little crappy at first, still processing.

I also uploaded the raw file. It took 1.3gb of space.
I'm only able to record for just over 10 minutes. It'll stop automatically after that, even if I have manual mode turned on. Is there any way to record more than that?
Really hope AMD comes up with something like this.
I guess they kinda have to, this can be a deal breaker, especially taking into account the let's play phenomenon.
AMD keep coming up with open-source software, and nVidia just does not want to return the favor.
I know they are two competing businesses, but it feels like AMD is trying to help the industry by making these programs anyone can use and nVidia are being a bunch of cockbags by constantly putting out this awesome stuff that they only allow to work on their hardware.
God dammit I literally bought Dxtory two days ago
Going to try this out, though I'm pretty fine with recording on the Open Broadcaster Software, at the moment.
Edit: Well lets see, it crashed when I activated ShadowPlay, and kinda messed up Google Chrome until I restarted it. Great start. :v:
Edit 2: Finished a test recording, checked the directory it's supposed to save in (I did make sure to use Alt+F10 to save the recording), no file. Already this isn't promising...
Getting GTX 770 soon, hope it works out well.
Nice try NSA.
Tried it with my GTX 650 Ti, so far so good. I barely noticed any FPS drop. Things like this makes hard to use an ATI card for me. Should I feel bad?
650 ti is a good card
Fucking damn you need a 600 series or higher and I have a 560Ti
It really does look nice. Doesn't take up much space either.

Are you running the game in a window? Shadowplay won't record unless it's fullscreen.
Wow, I don't meet the CPU requirements. I wonder why it's so high.
has anyone else noticed weird artifacts in the audio?
when I tried recording Dark Souls and Metro: LL I ended up getting weird audio glitches, like some NPC audio not being recorded, and ambient sounds being much louder than sounds made by the player.
It says I need the GeForce 331.43 driver or later. I have a 660. It says my driver is up to date...
What's going on?

re-download geforce experience, that's what I did. You need 1.7 if I remember correctly.

I have a 660 and it's working fine here.
Works fantastic. Tested it on a quality game I just picked up.

it's nice also that Nvidia isn't meaninglessly making it exclusive either, it's actually exclusive due to a genuine hardware feature.

I'm a dumbass. I didn't check the "include beta drivers" box underneath the check for updates button.
Sorry for that and thanks for the reply.
AMD/ATi also included the gaming center with there latest drivers. We can't record it seems but we can live stream through twitch and take screenshots. It used Raptr though so slightly disappointed.
This is the straw that breaks my back.

I have had nothing but regrets about getting this card, since more or less the moment my notebook arrived. I never realized just how neutered the 680M was as opposed to the 680. What I get for just going "Oh it's a high-end Nvidia card, it'll be just fine!"
How Neutered Is It? According to GPUBoss, about 20FPS on Bioshock Infinite.
I am never getting a gaming notebook again. Fuck the inconvenience of having a desktop - I shouldn't have to kick Bioshock Infinite's graphics down to low to just get my framerate at a number reliably higher than 20 when using anything with "GTX" and "680" in its name.

This is why I always tell people that the mobile GPUs are not at all comparable in the slightest to their desktop namesakes

You really shouldn't have gotten a laptop for gaming anyway, even a console would have been better.
fucking kill me I have a gtx 640 and they require a 650
Don't complain. I'm still rocking a GeForce 8800

Yeah, if it did have the equivalent of a desktop 680, the heat buildup would be insane.
I've been thinking about getting a new GPU for a while, I was leaning towards AMD (GPGPU performance is crazy on their cards), but this looks quite nice to have.

Yeah, my Mac has a 9400M and it gets 15fps in Portal with everything on low, The 7600 I owned like 7 years ago could max that out.
Are you running the game in a window? Shadowplay won't record unless it's fullscreen.
I was running in fullscreen. In fact, when I tried another game in fullscreen, it doesn't even show that ShadowPlay icon on the corner. But hey, it's beta, so what else should I expect at the moment?
Don't mean to spam, but here's a second vid, with an actual intensive game now.

The quality's pretty nice. Sorry for the camera, using my new mouse and I think the sensitivity was too high.
This worked great running Guild Wars 2, ultra pretty much everything. Wish I had a better upload speed, I'd probably make good use of this.
So essentially they're skimming the framebuffer and a duplicate output is streamed directly to a hardware compressor and saved to a file.
Well so long as Nvidia doesn't patent the idea AMD should have it soon enough.
Doesn't work on my GT 750 because it's a mobile GPU, sad day.
edit: It works but I have to run it manually.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA GeForce Experience\GFExperience.exe" -shadowplay
edit: Using it enables/uses V-sync, and thus causes slight input lag, It's pretty noticeable when playing OSU, but It's a pretty good trade off.

It can't possibly work on any other hardware as they are making hardware... They aren't being "cockbags", they are making hardware and writing drivers and software to use it.
