I've honestly never watched any sci-fi shows and the last time I saw a Star Wars movie was in grade 4 when we had a substitute teacher who didn't care to teach us and that was like....jesus, 20 years ago? Man I feel old.

Anyway. I was never got into Star Trek, but considering the amount of friends I had who were I can respect the role he played and the fact he was the copilot of nerd fandom in general. RIP man.
I was always more of a star wars fan, but Leonard Nimoy always seemed like such a cool guy. RIP.
Not sure if it was intended or not, but most of the Futurama episodes today were about Star Trek or something related to it in someway, somehow. RIP.

It's funny how the personalities and legacies of public figures influence our reaction to their passing. When Shatner dies, we'll be celebrating his life. For Nimoy, we mourn his death.
