• Semen secrets: how a previous sexual partner can influence another male’s offspring

This doesn't look like something that would yield much data on humans. Let's see some research that involves pigs (due to organ similarity) and maybe this might be more informative.
Flies all look pretty much the same to the naked eye. Doesn't hold too much real merit at the moment.
I think it reinforces the belief that these religious scriptures knew a lot about these subjects but with a lack of ability to explain with hard evidence or to masses; for example one article states: Ancient Greece proposed the idea that offspring can inherit characteristics from their mother's previous mate – known as telegony - which no doubt coined the birth of sex after marriage and was adopted by plentiful of religious books (among other laws, rules and guide-lines). Comes as no surprise I suppose that ancient philosophies blanketed their sophistication into religious ritual for the common man to appreciate - it is a crude but effective manual for a society. Why else do the Qu'ran, Torah and Bible talk about banking, basic law and economics along with hygiene and avoidance of certain meats? Its as if the people who made it were trying to make a "functional society for dummies" handbook.
I'm a bit confused here, are you saying this gives credence to the Bible/Qu'ran/Torah because it actually contained truths that only modern science could give? I find that really implausible, I mean it's pretty simple to tell people "rinse your hands thoroughly" and I haven't seen that anywhere (Without cherry picking the HELL out of the bible) in the Bible.
[stuff I agree with]
And another thing, there are thousands of ancient philosophies and religions, and millions of guesses as to how the world works. It would be miraculous if none of the guesses were leaning in the right direction. Especially the guesses that were vague.
it plays into the age-old idea that a woman must be pure or else she's undesirable
um if he wants to marry a virgin that's his business, it's doesnt have to be a deeply rooted misogynistic thing
if he wants to marry a virgin that's his business, it's doesnt have to be a deeply rooted misogynistic thing
Well, actually it's his and his wife's business... And depending on the reason, it can indeed be rooted in misogynistic reasoning.
Well, actually it's his and his wife's business...
The one he doesn't have yet? How does that work.
This was shown years ago, only really applies to tournament species (ones with big alpha male who goes round fucking then leaving) males adapt to be more poisonous, damaging or forcing the foetus to take more nutrients, in the case of the first 2 usually with delayed effects to fuck competitors having babies. Likewise the females adapt defences against it. Happens in humans too, some carcinoma is caused by it when the female hasn't got adequate defence. I assure you this is late and the article is posting something already known with an eye catching/provocative title to lure you in
Beginneth human trials?!
Flies all look pretty much the same to the naked eye. Doesn't hold too much real merit at the moment.
racist
Flies all look pretty much the same to the naked eye. Doesn't hold too much real merit at the moment.
flies are one of the evolutionary research staples. Just because we can't see a difference doesn't mean there isn't one. Can you tell the difference between 2 chimpanzees or snakes?
Well, actually it's his and his wife's business... And depending on the reason, it can indeed be rooted in misogynistic reasoning.
depends on the reason though i mean i'll be with virgins or non-virgins but it feels nice to be the first for somebody, even if it just feels special :v: i'm bisexual and it applies to males and females for me if somebody thinks that somebody is genuinely less 'pure' after they've had sex that's stupid though, that's probably getting in to misogyny territory there
I accidentally murdered two bees having sex once.
Hell of a way to go
does this mean i can have a black son awesome
The one he doesn't have yet? How does that work.
Last I checked marriage was consensual between 2 people, and if it's not consensual than her being a virgin or not is the least of problems.
depends on the reason though
That's exactly what I said...
i mean i'll be with virgins or non-virgins but it feels nice to be the first for somebody, even if it just feels special :v:
I mean it's sort of weird, and I guess superficially special; most firsts aren't very satisfying, because they're either really tense, haven't ever explored themselves (So fucking common where I live), or are shamed into thinking sex is bad; so at least for me most of the firsts I've been with have come with a ton of emotional baggage. Just my $0.02
