I dont use reddit much at all but when a user is banned from a subreddit do they A: get a message saying "ur bant" when trying to post or B: able to "post" but all posts are unseen by eveyone? Because I know numerous people, far too many to be a joke or something, that claim the latter.

The latter is a shadowban which can only be done by reddit admins, which means you know way too many idiots.

The people I know only have the issue when posting to /r/runescape and all called Jagex out on introducing broken microtransactions as many veteran players did - they can still post to other subreddits like /r/games and /r/wheredidthesodago

B is a shadowban. only admins can do that. A is a subreddit ban. mods can do that.

I wouldn't put it past Jagex to set up an automod to delete/hide/whatever posts of users that are critical of Jagex. I wont bore you guys with the details but they have a bit of a history with running "fan sites" that only exist to shill themselves, censoring and banning users from the official forums that dont like added microtransactions or large gamechanging/breaking updates... It really is quite depressing considering that prior to getting bought out 2~ years ago they were very much bro-tier.
