81? Damn, she doesn't look a day over 20. :downs:
She also made a series of genuinely fucking despicable remarks about Palestine literally a day before this: Say what you want about comedians being offensive, but considering this was a candid remark I'd say she's a nasty bint. Don't wish death on her, obviously, but she's a nasty cow at least.
"All Palestinians deserve to die; they don't even know how to use a pencil"
Sad update on the current condition of comedian Joan Rivers, who has been in a Manhattan hospital since Thursday after complications due to throat surgery
If there is one thing that lead to her presumed-eventual death, it was probably the flippant use of her tongue. Good riddance -- these older stone-age generations do nothing but halt progress for as long as they remain in prominence.
I don't condone wishing death on a person, at all. But her death won't excuse the fact that she never knew when to shut the fuck up.
I don't condone wishing death on a person, at all. But her death won't excuse the fact that she never knew when to shut the fuck up.
Perhaps that's why she sounds like a horse that knows how to talk.
How would you like it if people say that when you're 80 and people consider you to be "halting progress?"
Personally I'd take it on board and try to be a better person
I thought Steven Tyler went crazy with plastic surgery but god damn I hope she manages to pull through though.
Personally I'd take it on board and try to be a better person
I don't really think you would. Think of it this way. instead of thinking of how you would react to being put in her shoes (because that's obviously going to bring up bias {no matter how negative or positive it is} because you're thinking from an outsider's perspective)... keep your personality, but instead take everything else. You genuinely thinking you're right would end up halting almost all the progress in the rehabilitation.
How would you like it if people say that when you're 80 and people consider you to be "halting progress?"
"How would I like it..."? If I end up turning into an old bigot that reaches into the minds of hundreds of millions of people and then bluntly call for genocide -- I don't think I would care if people call myself a "halting force" in social progress, nor if people wished for my death (esp. when I wish for the death of a group of people) To make the incendiary statements as she has exhibits an acute sense of fervent xenophobia, her views pose a legitimate threat to her audience based purely off of her influential capacity. So to answer your question, no I don't seek to give sympathy to people who indirectly call for a massacre just because they are an old person. [editline]31st August 2014[/editline] If there were additional variables that were unaccounted for such as a declining mental health or a deteriorated sense of self-awareness, then she has my deepest sympathies.

She's a comedian, not a politician. People who agree with that stuff are her audience, and they're to whom she speaks. Also, nice stealth Godwin.
godwin and a devolution to isreal within the first page I'd say I was surprised but i'm not

Nobody takes Joan Rivers's word as Gospel or anything. "What Joan Rivers said kill the Palestinians? Guess I'm going to have to change my ideals over one statement." You call her xenophobic, but this is coming from the guy who would probably be happy if Israel burned off the map. p.s. Hitler was 56 when he died and about 45 when he became Fuher. Wouldn't consider him an "old man."

This is what led to Rivers' reaction. If this pro-peace, non-side picking is what leads to this type of reaction, I am going to say it again, good riddance.

Do you not see how ironic it is that you're wishing death upon her for wishing death upon other people?
What a day to be alive
