One of the devs secretly makes money and sells it under the table lol.
Whats second life economy like?
All I remember from my brief time on it was being a pole dancing troll thing, 1 money per 10 minutes or something but I got kicked from the place before making anything.
This reminds me of the time of playing on a server, where the marketprices for diamond blocks were proportionally lower than for single diamonds. Bought all of them, sold them as single diamonds, and bought some slaves to build a huge statue in my honor in the centre of the city as a result :v:.

Arbitrage opportunity
how do you not stop at that title alone?
same thing happens in WoW
only the idiots on wallstreet and washington DC don't seem to understand this or worse, do understand and collude with it to enrich themselves

still in minecraft, whats the point amassing so much wealth on an iconomy server without using all of it on grand works such as making massive cathedrals with lava-filled lakes all around them and gates made out of cast obsidian and diamond blocks adorning every wall
Just like real life, the majority of super wealthy people treat their money like their score, and it serves no other purpose
I'm curious to know what server it was

If less was more how you keeping score?
If it's a minecraft server with infinite world space, and therefore infinite resources, it's automatically not applicable to real life in any way shape or form.
I say keep regulations for another 50 years, then drop them. Just long enough to phase out the last of those who would think only of profit and not their employee conditions, then we can have unregulated capitalism without all the dangers of profiteers.
Do you try to come up with good ideas? Or do you just open your mouth/move your finger tips and let the shit ones flow freely?
I saw one of these once. The server had fucked up cause they had both a virtual store and marketplace where you could buy items from thin air with game money and sell them to a nebulous "market" for game money. Redstone could be bought for $10 each, and sold for $15 each, so I was running back and forth between the store and marketplace making tons of money, then once I had enough I bought several blocks of diamond and distributed them to people

Time is a resource.
If it takes a week to get resources back then new resources become increasingly difficult to get.
They could combat this by having the entire server being nomadic or something, but then as they get more resources those resources become slower/harder to move.
It is a shitty emulation though.
