Shopping carts remain property of the store that bought them even after they leave the store's property. They also cost around $150 each. Let's hope he gets a nice bill for each one that still has a store logo on it
What an entitled prick. You know it's not always the victims fault they are homeless.
He isn't a Super Hero, he is a Super Villain.
If some guy came around smashing up my shopping cart, I'd smash him with the cart.
[thumb]http://www.ci.temple-city.ca.us/Shopping%20Cart%20Retrieval/IP-shoppingcart.JPG[/thumb] I beg to differ my good sir.
He's not doing it any more. http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/24015431/hawaii-lawmaker-drops-sledgehammer-approach

Instead of smashing stuff that belongs to the people who have nothing, why don't you use your political power to uplift them out of poverty by opening up economic and education avenues they can take. ASSHOLE.

Since there is only three stores on the island he could have easily found the proper owner.
I am trying very hard to try to comprehend this guy's reasoning. This is like looking overweight high school students and burning their bookbags in order to lower obesity rates. It makes no logical sense at all.

Man, We're supposed to be the Aloha state :(
Uhm, isn't that technically littering and vandalism? He's destroying things and leaving the rubbish about. Fine him for littering please.
Im surprised he hasnt been stabbed yet.
Wait. . .he's a DEMOCRAT?!
Seems like the average republican to me.
I thought dems were for getting homeless people off the street by entitlement programs...
Great job. Now, instead of having all their junk in one place e.g. - a shopping cart, it will be scattered all over alleyways and parking lots.
I wish he would realize that it's not stealing if it's been thrown into the trash, only to be resold as trash.
But shopping carts are bigger. And heavier.
to be fair a cart isn't nearly as direct in blunt force as a sledge
